In the one before the last clip of Sanchez, where he strikes out the batter, what is that last pitch he used? Looked like cutter or slider or something like that.

Alford looked good in his 6 game sample for whatever it's worth lol

My hopes for Alford are few right now. The kid must give up football or baseball to develop his talent in one of the two sport.

I think this is a case of AA wasting bonus money trying to be too clever. If the Jays want to sponsor his burgeoning football career, Alford will take the money but that's the extent of his baseball commitment.

Alford 20 AB by year. Great

It was a FB, looked like a two-seamer. Crazy breaking action on that pitch. Very impressive.

If he fails at Ole Miss then he'll commit to baseball fully. It sucks that as Jays fans we have to root for him to fail but, he isn't going to be an MLB player playing a couple months a year before the football season starts.

He will make the NFL as a backup DB if he has to. That's clearly all he cares about.

Andy Burns slowly adjusting to AA, 2-4 today with 1hr 2rbi to bring his average up to 230.

Over his last 10 games .289/.341/.605 2hr 4rbi 4(2b) 1(3b) 3bb 8so (7.3bb% 19.5K%)

So is anyone else concerned about Christian Lopes sucking?

I'll give him a break. It's his first year in a full season league and he's hanging in there. He hit the wall at about the mid-point of the year. He was hitting .274 pre all-star which was not bad. We'll see how he does in the FSL next year. He plays a solid second base, makes contact ( only 14%k rate) and he has some pop. He'll have to learn to take more walks (only 7.5%) and avoid the prolonged slump. Also the rule of thumb is usually 1000ab before you can fully judge a hitter.

He was doing well early in the year, but not walking then he started walking and then he slumped. Maybe going through adjustments. It'll be interesting to see how he does next year.

At least Andy Burns is showing some promise, maybe they can move him to 2B.

I'm pretty high on him. He looked comfortable when I saw him last week.

Lots of people are pretty high on him, I disagree about non prospect

Non-prospect no but nothing special either. He's probably a top 5 position prospect in the Jays system right now but that just doesn't mean a whole lot at the moment.

Yeah, he's a decent prospect. It's worrying that a decent prospect is putting up some pretty bad numbers.

I like being wrong. Dwight Smith: 118 wRC+, .355 wOBA, .112 ISO.

I think Burns has played his way to top of the heap right now. Head and shoulders over the other position prospects. This is the only prospect bandwagon that I'm on board right now. I'm down on everyone else.

So you are high on Andy Burns, who's done jack s*** in AA but he's done okay recently, and Down on everyone else? That does not make any sense to me

Burns has had a good overall season. I'm not basing my evaluation of him strictly on AA numbers.

I've always thought it was Burns bat that was the question mark and that he was sound with the glove and arm. True or false?

I'll take Barreto, Pillar, Gose and Jimenez over Burns. That being said he's probably the Jay's best MIF prospect outside of short season A ball.
