z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Thank god the Pedro Alvarez saga is over. Not a bad landing spot either. oops, relates to my LOD team, but what evs.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 So Trumbo is going to be in the OF a lot I guess? That's awesome.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Trumbo as an everyday RF is absurd.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2002461-diamondbacks-mark-trumbo-really-overestimates-distance-on-fly-ball?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-national
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Probably Trumbo at 1B and Davis in the OF, assuming Trumbo and Alvarez are actually hitting.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 My god that is a lot of K's and very little walks in that lineup. If Davis ever regresses home run wise it would just be a chance for teams a chance to pad the K/9 stats lol
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Carter Capps officially going under the knife. --- Carter Capps will undergo Tommy John surgery on Tuesday. Capps underwent an MRI last Tuesday after feeling discomfort in his right elbow. He subsequently visited Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola. No good news came of that meeting, clearly. The 25-year-old right-hander will miss the whole of the 2016 campaign. While the team's hoping that he'll be ready for Opening Day, 2017, that's a long ways off and it should be considered a soft projection and nothing more at this point. The elbow injury's a tough blow for player and team, as Capps was a potential ninth-inning arm. In 31 innings last season, he held a stellar 1.16 ERA and 58/7 K/BB ratio. With him out of the picture, A.J. Ramos should be considered more/less locked in as closer.

I have Ramos in the LOD already, but I was expecting Capps to be one of my best relievers and help my pitching ratios. Probably will be tough to keep him past next years waiver deadline in the FC.

I'm glad to see your FC team lose a stud RP. When are you going to pony up for Ortiz? I have a good offer from Santos.

Serves you right for being in Dubai and not getting in on the Wade Davis sweepstakes
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Pretty shrewd move by Gibbers, selling Capps off for MiLB 20 and 42. He'll be a tough keep next year - you have to question whether he's capable of pitching effectively for a full season. Basically picked up two decent picks with no value lost.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Davis keeping OF eligibility for another year would be swell
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Didn't you basically "guarantee" you'd trade him before the offseason ended? The pressure must be mounting, I'll give you Tolleson still though. Who is this addressed to?

He's a poof; a mediocre reliever that won't keep the job for longer than a couple of months.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 I think we need to do a new league with player salaries, at some point. Could use real life salaries and set each team's cap somewhere near the MLB average payroll. It would add another layer of complexity but would also make it all the more interesting. I think it would benefit different fantasy skill sets too. Owners that are good at consolidating assets into star players would be worse off and owners that are good at drafting and evaluating prospects / young players would be better off. The league would probably deeper farm systems than the DDL. Maybe next year.

I did one once that had it's issues with missed infractions and stuff but with this group it would be very good I'm sure. Trading becomes limited and some veteran former stars get dropped sometimes but it's interesting.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Anybody have too many closers and want to swap one for an elite holds guy like Romo? He's going to make his spring debut in a few days.

BTS Community Moderator Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 My scheme! Don't hate the hustle bruh Maybe someone like Fernando Rodney? Die.
