So Trumbo is going to be in the OF a lot I guess? That's awesome.

My god that is a lot of K's and very little walks in that lineup. If Davis ever regresses home run wise it would just be a chance for teams a chance to pad the K/9 stats lol

Carter Capps officially going under the knife.

---

Carter Capps will undergo Tommy John surgery on Tuesday.

Capps underwent an MRI last Tuesday after feeling discomfort in his right elbow. He subsequently visited Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola. No good news came of that meeting, clearly. The 25-year-old right-hander will miss the whole of the 2016 campaign. While the team's hoping that he'll be ready for Opening Day, 2017, that's a long ways off and it should be considered a soft projection and nothing more at this point. The elbow injury's a tough blow for player and team, as Capps was a potential ninth-inning arm. In 31 innings last season, he held a stellar 1.16 ERA and 58/7 K/BB ratio. With him out of the picture, A.J. Ramos should be considered more/less locked in as closer.

Sometimes things work out exactly as expected.

Ugh own some shares of him in the LOD and FC. I have Ramos in the LOD already, but I was expecting Capps to be one of my best relievers and help my pitching ratios. Probably will be tough to keep him past next years waiver deadline in the FC.

I'm glad to see your FC team lose a stud RP. :D When are you going to pony up for Ortiz? I have a good offer from Santos.

I have A-Rod already as my UTL. Don't think I could roster two players with UTL eligibility.

Serves you right for being in Dubai and not getting in on the Wade Davis sweepstakes

Pretty shrewd move by Gibbers, selling Capps off for MiLB 20 and 42. He'll be a tough keep next year - you have to question whether he's capable of pitching effectively for a full season. Basically picked up two decent picks with no value lost.

Didn't you basically "guarantee" you'd trade him before the offseason ended?

The pressure must be mounting, I'll give you Tolleson still though.

Who is this addressed to?

Believe me, I tried. Nobody likes him.

And nobody wants Shawn/Steve Tolleson. He's a poof; a mediocre reliever that won't keep the job for longer than a couple of months.

Yep. Kela and Dyson are just much better pitchers.

I think we need to do a new league with player salaries, at some point. Could use real life salaries and set each team's cap somewhere near the MLB average payroll. It would add another layer of complexity but would also make it all the more interesting. I think it would benefit different fantasy skill sets too. Owners that are good at consolidating assets into star players would be worse off and owners that are good at drafting and evaluating prospects / young players would be better off. The league would probably deeper farm systems than the DDL. Maybe next year.

We need a pool every off-season so that makes sense. I did one once that had it's issues with missed infractions and stuff but with this group it would be very good I'm sure. Trading becomes limited and some veteran former stars get dropped sometimes but it's interesting.

Anybody have too many closers and want to swap one for an elite holds guy like Romo? He's going to make his spring debut in a few days.

Sit tight. Romo will be closing by May.
