z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 You have to say International for some reason. yeah, I usually get that option, but it just kept going straight in and saying the feed wasn't available. Either way, its working now.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Andrus is bad at the beisbol Jays won Bro, be happy.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Andrus is bad at the beisbol might be an opportunity for someone to trade him to a Jays fan
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Andrus is bad at the beisbol I agree he is no future HOF inductee Lindor.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Andrus is available to anyone who wants to trade for him. Wouldn't it be nice to trade for him just to have the pleasure of cutting him?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Andrus has always been a terrible hitter, it's unfortunate for the Rangers that he's a terrible fielder now also.

I was impressed by his D early in the series. That's the kind of inning that is going to haunt him for a loooooong time.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Is his career done at 26?
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I was impressed by his D early in the series. That's the kind of inning that is going to haunt him for a loooooong time. He'll always be remembered for that game. Not just the 2 errors and not scooping Moreland's bad throw, but also 0-4 with a caught stealing and huge strikeout in the 8th inning. One of the worst performances ever in an elimination game.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I actually feel bad for Andrus, that was next level Buckner stuff.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 IMO, the only inexcusable play was him dropping Beltre's throw. I don't think Martin's ball was particularly routine and asking him to dig out a horrid throw with a runner bearing down is a lot to ask. I also get the impression that he's probably a good dude off the field, so you gotta feel for the guy.

And even that you could pin on Beltre for making a tactical error. That was a huge out potentially and it was pretty foolish of him to go for the close play over the sure out. The announcers even called it before it happened stating plainly that given the way they were fielding, the Rangers were in no position to turn up their noses at the sure out and, sure enough, that's exactly what they did and they booted the ball again. Taking the out would have help calm some nerves and restored a feeling of control.

The Rangers had the wheel play on (which is the reason Pompey pinch ran at that point) and, after a firm bunt, Beltre made a perfect throw that beat Pompey by like 5 feet. Beltre, as per usual, played his position perfectly.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Goins was absolutely brutal with the stick all series.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Goins was absolutely brutal with the stick all series. Yeah he's looking more and more like just the same old Goins which though still way better than Cliff Pennington (similar bat, worse fielding) is nothing to make you forgot Devon Travis.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 Another bad bunt by Goins? Pretty hard to ask someone to lay down a bunt so good that it foils a cognizant and crashing Adrian Beltre. I wouldn't call it "bad". I mean, he didn't pop it up, so that was good.

Laika Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 So it was a misguided attempt to "test" Beltre? It wasn't Goins' decision to bunt. TBH, once the wheel play is obviously on, the hitting team should probably swing away. What is Goins supposed to do here? http://i.imgur.com/kgjBBmB.jpg Andrus is already in motion towards 3B and maybe 12 feet ahead of a flat footed Pompey. Moreland and Beltre are already picking Goins' pocket. Unless he lays down a nearly perfect, 90th percentile bunt, Texas has a good chance to force out Pompey. I think Goins' expected batting average on a groundball there would be tremendous. Probably up around .500 (guess). And I don't know enough about the technical aspects of baseball strategy and baserunning, but I feel like Pompey should have been a bit more aggressive, and breaking closer to Andrus' heels. I might be wrong on that though. It's tricky because they could put a pickoff play on with Odor and then get Andrus to break and draw him off for an easy out.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 Everyone please vote in the offseason check in poll on proboards, so we know if anyone needs a poke to get their ass over there. Poll is in the general discussion section. Only like 7 team trade blocks have been updated.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 It's tricky because they could put a pickoff play on with Odor and then get Andrus to break and draw him off for an easy out. This possibility was raised expecially with Pompey being an inexperienced runner. I forget whether it was the annoucers who brought it up or the board (maybe some combination of both). Anyways, thanks for indulging my question. Do your analysis plus the screenshot would make a good blog post? A game within the game kind of thing.
