Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I'm just being facetious but I am concerned about my Boxy like start. I knew my offense would be mediocre, but my arms are killing me. Maybe by July I actually will hit the panic button.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 Wow, I didn't realize how s***** your offense actually was. It's Trout and then a bunch of scabs. Pence is needed.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 You won your first matchup by a lot? Is Yahoo toying with us or something? I got crushed by njh. Now I'm getting crushed by z3r0s.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Oh nice, I can drop all these scrubby Rockies RPs now. Kluber, Ottavino...a guy can do a lot worse than collecting North's castoffs! e: Reaally wish I'da lifted Carrasco too, there was a window Adam Ottavino could put together a string of elite closer seasons. He's crazy good. And you picked him high enough in the waiver draft that you deserve his production (didn't just get lucky).
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Just added Pillar. No regrets. Are grittiness and #thewilltowin categories?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Ben Revere is currently rocking a -7 wRC+. I didn't know that it was possible to have a - wRC+.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 Ben Revere is currently rocking a -7 wRC+. I didn't know that it was possible to have a - wRC+. Russell Martin is -25. Being under 0 is the same as being over 200. Not sure why someone decided with these + and - stats that 100 should be league average. Why not zero? It would seem to make more sense and be more intuitive if a person with a -20 wRC+ was 20% below league average.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 So the Astros 3-4-5 hitters are all currently striking out at 40+%. Thry could set some records this year. Also, Chris Davis and Joey Gallo are the same person.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I hadn't actually seen any footage of K. Vargas until today. Guy is beastly.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I hadn't actually seen any footage of K. Vargas until today. Guy is beastly. He looks exactly like a young Ortiz in the box, notice that?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 He looks exactly like a young Ortiz in the box, notice that? I suppose the fact that they both came up with the Twins reinforces that.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I suppose the fact that they both came up with the Twins reinforces that. The batting stance etc, is so similar, never thought about the same organization, lol.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Watching the Brewers/Cards game, I really miss Lind.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Watching the Brewers/Cards game, I really miss Lind. I like Smoak i think he is going to have himself a very quiet yet productive year. I like the way his ABs have looked so far. However his lack of facial hair is very boring.

Matt and Greg should make a mediocre platoon for you at UTIL one day.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Orlando Arcia and Albert Almora are the second and fifth youngest players in the Southern League (former pharmhand Tyrone Taylor is eighth). Wendell Rijo is the youngest player in the California League. NJH has the two youngest players in the Texas League and his pick for breakout prospect of the year is third (Nomar Mazara). Interesting stuff.
