Seems pretty out of touch. Matt Davidson just hit .199/.283 in AAA and he gave him an HM.

 

Also, there's Vogelbach at 71. Pretty sure a fat DH should lose top 101 status when he fails to crack an .800 OPS in A+ after a mediocre .824 the year prior in A and a third straight season primarily in A ball.

I also find the attention that Michael Taylor gets kind of baffling. The kid has struggled with the hit tool forever, and then he BABIPs .421 with a 30% K rate but puts up numbers in AA and all of a sudden people believe?

 

It seems like an easy thing to see through, that what he did was kind of a mirage, but what do I know. I've never even made the finals in this dumb league.

Well he went 24/37 in 536 PA, and stole 51 bags the year prior, so maybe the author is kind of thinking he'll be relevant even if he hits .220. But he'd likely be a bench player in that case, so....

I always have a hard time figuring out why Francisco Lindor is consistently ranked so highly in dynasty/fantasy prospect lists. Yes, his defense is good enough to stick at SS. But so was Brendan Ryan's. Lindor has consistently been mediocre with the bat at every step of the way through the minors. So what on earth makes everyone think he'll hit above-average, even for a SS, in the minors? And if he can't do that, then why bother owning him on a dynasty roster?

 

He's 21 and has already held his own against AAA pitching. You're right in that he doesn't project as a stalwart fantasy SS the second he reaches the majors, but as he grows he projects as a 60 hitter with 60 speed and a little bit of power.

 

The last bit of what you wrote is just a leading question. Yes, *if* he can't hit he's not worthy of owning. But the only evidence you've provided that he won't is that he's yet to light the world on fire at levels for which he's incredibly young. The comp to Brendan Ryan is a bit silly.

 

88 wRC+ = holding his own. OK there Ben.

 

Also, since this guy seems to be a total fantasy noob, would anyone mind posting the whole list? I'd pay for a BP sub but I don't want to.
