TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Therapist says I keep people at a distance as a defense mechanism. Yet you moved closer to all of us.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Yes, I don't like to own dislikable, non-superstar players. Sorry Papa Grande and K-Rod! I make exceptions for elite players, see: Puig. Although actually, I like Puig's flair. He hasn't done anything heinous yet that I'm aware of. It probably has a lot to do with him being Cuban and succeeding, but I actually really enjoy watching Puig play, as is common for watching elite players do their thing. He might be a bit childish and immature, but nothing about his character or antics on the field have made me dislike him like I hate A-Rod.

You'd be hard pressed to find anybody under 50 that doesn't enjoy watching Puig play.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I took Jason Grilli. Pretty good pitcher to nab this late.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I was torn between Grilli and Fujikawa. Neftali Feliz's shittiness was the difference.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 took Matt Adams. Will email next guy Anyone else flip out when they saw this thinking they missed seeing Matt Adams?
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Anyone else flip out when they saw this thinking they missed seeing Matt Adams? I panicked for about 2 seconds then realized z3r0s was just dumn.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Pretty good pitcher to nab this late. There's no such thing as late in the waiver draft. The waiver draft is a flat circle.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 So is everyone who traded into the first round pleased with their decision?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 So is everyone who traded into the first round pleased with their decision? Shhh don't be snarky or the market looking to buy our first rounders will shrink.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Anyone else flip out when they saw this thinking they missed seeing Matt Adams? No, because if Matt Adams was cut, we would have all realized immediately and laughed hysterically.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 So who's handling our pre-season power ranking votes this year?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 So is everyone who traded into the first round pleased with their decision? Nope but still will do it next year with the FeatherD, as I still believe that MiLB picks are useless. I will admit that the AA rule makes it considerably different than the Fantasy Challenge league where there are 15 of Fangraphs 200 available.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Anyone else flip out when they saw this thinking they missed seeing Matt Adams? I was thinking: "Man, these DDL guys think they're so s*** hot, and they're all drafting guys like Edinson Volquez, over Matt Adams. What a bunch of morons."
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 So is everyone who traded into the first round pleased with their decision? I still think it's a viable strategy for a team that is either rebuilding or wants to take a specific high upside gamble. Marcum Semien went @ 21 and he's a nice pickup for any rebuilding team. Could be a long term infielder. Hunter Strickland and Jacob Lindgren strike me as guys that have a chance to be special - potential keeper quality relievers. But, having just praised the Strickland pick, TheHurl is also the cautionary tale. Broxton, Holdzkom, Pierce Johnson, and Jordy Mercer all taken between #6 and #26.... I'm just not sure that there's anything there at all.
