Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I have placed Urias on the board on at least three seperate occasions. I'm pretty sure Cat's Ass and NJH were the only ones who ever inquired. CA is pretty good that way. He pretty much always inquires even though 90% of the time nothing happens. That being said, it's never a bad thing to show interest. Sometimes it leads to deals down the line. I was thinking about offering Harvey for Urias +. Guess I should have let someone know, though I think I'd already dealt Norris at that point.

I don't think I've ever done a trade with him but he's probably sent me more PMs than anyone else in the league.

One time I put someone on the block publicly and he pm'd to ask if the player was available.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 If anybody out there really likes Dalton Pompey, feel free to make an offer. Would probably consider MLB upgrades to C, SP, or RP (RP would need to be elite). Also, maybe a different prospect on the cusp that I like more.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 oh we're rivals? I honestly could not name a single team in my division without checking.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I honestly could not name a single team in my division without checking. Really, wow? I trade in division though, whoooooooo geeeeeefs a faaaaaaawk!
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 I honestly could not name a single team in my division without checking. Yeah I'd imagine that it becomes pretty irrelevant when you're never in the playoff race
TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 We have divisions? Just looking at my prospects. Despite me liking most of them (JR Graham, who I thought I traded long ago...turns out that was in FC, being the exception). I have no #1 on their team prospects and only 2 top 3...and both of them are pitchers, which I don't care about. I might have the best bottom 5 farm ever.

Seven guys that could be fantasy relevant but none of them are stud prospects (at least not yet. a couple have a chance to be).
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Sammy has a pretty sick farm. Crawford, Tapia, Renfroe, Kolek, Pentecost, Chi-Chi, Robertson, Travis, Alfaro, Piscotty. Deep! Hard to beat Havok's top end of Buxton and Seager though. z3r0s has Giolito and Russell + some other relevant guys. Boxy obviously has a few elite prospects + a stockpile of high picks. At a glance, those might be the top 4 farm systems.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Yeah I'd imagine that it becomes pretty irrelevant when you're never in the playoff race I made the playoffs in my first year before my over-aggressive, premature tear down. I must have known who was in the race at that time but yeah now it's pretty irrelevant.

I thought you finished like 11th or something in year1 pretty "impressive" tear down of a playoff team, if you don't mind me saying so

Decent depth there

I thought you finished like 11th or something in year1 pretty "impressive" tear down of a playoff team, if you don't mind me saying so I think I died in the semis. Success was bad for me thought because I took it for granted. I should have tried for at least one more run before blowing it up. You can blow it up whenever you want but you can't just decide to have a playoff team.

Decent depth there Yeah I missed your team. With Gallo and Sano, you'd be in that group. I might have one of the best farms as far as "playoff teams" go, but it's all arms so I'm not that excited about it.

Not too bad for a perennial contender

I do like that I have lots of talent close to the majors (should graduate Meyers, Taylor, Russell, and Sanchez this year) and I've managed to get some nice high picks for this years draft (2,11). I'll put my farm up against anyones, but I don't think its a slam dunk #1 like (I believe) it was last year.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I really need to improve my horror show of a farm.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Trying to think of what I have to show for my prospects. Syndergaard - included in deal for Abreu Glasnow - traded for Lester Salazar - traded for Belt who was traded for Kennedy Dozier - traded for Vargas who was traded for Crisp Parsons + Medeiros - traded for Wada Gyorko - traded for a pick (that sack of s***) Barretto - traded with 1st for Shoemaker Alcantara - traded + Calhoun + 1st for Fister I think that's every noteworthy prospect I've owned. The only one I didn't draft myself is Glasnow, so at least I've made decent use of my draft picks.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 My best prospect isn't even on my farm, which weakened it considerably.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I've spent some value over the past few months to maintain my farm and I like where it stands. No elite prospects but plenty of top ~200 guys.

BTS Community Moderator Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 How deep are the farms in this league? Shouldn't everyone basically have top 200 prospects? 12 man farms, so 240 prospects. Somehow I only have 4 top-200 prospects.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 How deep are the farms in this league? Shouldn't everyone basically have top 200 prospects? North is RPing as a GM, so he's attempting to put positive spin on a s***** situation.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 How deep are the farms in this league? Shouldn't everyone basically have top 200 prospects? It's a 12 prospect max, but that doesn't mean everyone has many top 200 prospects. There are a lot of obscure guys owned that will likely be dropped in June, and it's been a while since the last June draft so there are plenty of unowned top 200 guys. Farm strength also skews heavily towards a few of the rebuilding teams. I probably have nine top 200 guys and I think that's pretty good.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 12 man farms, so 240 prospects. Somehow I only have 4 top-200 prospects. Yeah but if you turned them into MLB assets than that's more important.
