Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 At one point in time, Spanky owned both Julio Urias and Daniel Norris, the 1st and 3rd best LHP prospects in baseball right now (mlb.com). He picked Norris 118th overall in the initial draft (I think), and he picked Urias 22nd overall in the 2013 June draft. He traded Urias in 2014 in a 3 team deal that landed him Aaron Sanchez (KK got Urias and a high pick, TCA got Cliff Lee). He also traded Norris in 2014, to Silvergun for Wei Yin Chen and pick #41 (gross). Silvergun traded Norris + his 1st for Odorrizi (rape for Boxy). Boxy traded Norris and Rusney to me for Ryu. I just traded Norris to Kat for Urias. That's the story of how Spanky practically lit two elite LHP prospects on fire, and then they eventually got swapped for each other. That hurts to read.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Last offseason's trade map had Urias-Sanchez (http://i.imgur.com/MLcFeha.png, bottom) but the Norris trade happened after it. The way that you used the arrows and language in that graphic was just really not intuitive at all, lol.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 The way that you used the arrows and language in that graphic was just really not intuitive at all, lol. Yeah I know lol. The arrows are consistent for each transaction, so if you know who got which side you can figure out the whole trade. Usually the team listed first in the trade arrow box received the assets pointing away from the box.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Jorge Soler's breakout makes last offseason's five-way even more interesting. You can add jays_fever to the winners tally.

And then he struggled with injuries to begin the year, was pretty meh in a very small sample size and I ended up trading him for Quintana about a week before he came back and went beast mode lol. I blame some of you babies for complaining that I was tanking my pitching categories every week

Could have been worse. At least Quintana is both young and good.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Wait, NJH traded Norris for Urias?!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 problem? Well I guess you're pretty lucky I didn't know that deal existed you greasy weasel
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Well I guess you're pretty lucky I didn't know that deal existed you greasy weasel Did you try for Urias earlier? When he first got placed OTB we actually had some Scherzer for Urias+ discussions, lol.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I have placed Urias on the board on at least three seperate occasions. I'm pretty sure Cat's Ass and NJH were the only ones who ever inquired. CA is pretty good that way. He pretty much always inquires even though 90% of the time nothing happens. That being said, it's never a bad thing to show interest. Sometimes it leads to deals down the line.

I thought you went out of your way to acquire him. I think he's a great asset for a rebuilding team. I like Norris too but the command profile is a bit scary.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Yes. Is it the fact he only has 1 eye?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Not sure which one I like more. It's crazy what Urias is doing at his age, He could be pitching in the majors this year at the ripe age of 18. But Norris really turned it on this year and has been crazy good. Plus he's a Blue Jay which makes it even more fun to own!

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Ok DDLers, Pop Quiznos. Without cheating, name the top 3 players in HR+SB over the last 3 seasons.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Ok DDLers, Pop Quiznos. Without cheating, name the top 3 players in HR+SB over the last 3 seasons. Goldshmidt and two other guys.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Goldshmidt and two other guys. Nelson Cruz for the second guy.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Nelson Cruz for the second guy. Trout for the third?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Nope, Goldy checks in at #17, just behind Stanton. Cruz is #27.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Trout is #1 by a good margin.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Tough one..... would figure trout would be #1, Cargo would not be in there would he?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Trout, Cutch, Gomez? Cutch is definatly one!

Man this shows how little attention I pay to MLB stats these days. I would have been all over this a decade ago. What about Adam Jones? He seems like the type who would hit a lot of homeruns and steals a lot of bases although I honestly have no idea what his totals are like.

You're in two extremely deep and challenging baseball dynasty leagues lol
