Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 You guys have completely ruined Remy Lacroix. FU
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I just wanted to say that I haven't gone full Min yet but my free time just keeps taking more of a hit as I am now working with a couple Pan Am Special events including chairing one. Don't worry though when it comes time to fundraising I'll be sure to hit you f***ers up. I do apologize for those that were talking 3B trade with me. If I cost myself some value as everyone sets their rosters...oh well.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 BALCO Pharm Team 2015 lineup ages: C Brian McCann 31 1B Anthony Rizzo 25 2B Dustin Pedroia 31 3B Adrian Beltre 36 SS Jed Lowrie 31 CF Andrew McCutchen 28 OF Matt Kemp 30 OF Hunter Pence 32 UTIL Prince Fielder 31 (Chris Carter 28) Average age of the starting nine is 30.6. I'll likely keep Beltre until retirement for the same reasons Dinger laid out re: Ortiz.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Pretty sure my starters are 28. All of them...same birthday. It was my draft plan.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I guess you haven't talk to BTS. I did. I was just trying to wind you up.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Yeah I admit, as a student in my last year at UofT, I didn't have $100 back then to blow on beer at the Rogers Centre. So whats your point lol? I don't think guys like Chappy or Gibbers spent $100 on a round of beer for everyone. Though if you think that entitles you to being a big shot, then great! I didn't buy a round, and I also didn't get bought for since I rarely drink.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 That's weird. I must have exited the document too soon.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 That's weird. I must have exited the document too soon. You also forgot to add Trout to mine from that deal way back me and FTD made. Don't worry, everyone makes mistakes.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 You also forgot to add Trout to mine from that deal way back me and FTD made. Don't worry, everyone makes mistakes. Yeah I'm still regretting that Mike Trout for Tyler Glasnow + Austin Hedges trade.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Yeah I'm still regretting that Mike Trout for Tyler Glasnow + Austin Hedges trade. You won't be when Glasnow is going all Randy Johnson and Hedges is playing like Pudge Rodriguez. You'll have a nice duo there. In fact, I kinda regret the deal. Trout SO rate concerns me, he had the most in the League.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 Shocked that North would deal Homer for those two prospects. Almora doesn't hit for power, walk, or run - possibly the worst utilization of tools in the minor leagues. Appel smells like a rich man's Deck McGuire.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I really hate North's offseason so far.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I like Appel a lot and Almora is said to have a high upside. Wanted to clear a roster spot too. Also want to build my own stable of prospects to deal, since it's impossible to trade with all the rebuilding teams unless you have that. I've missed out on all the great players traded so far because I haven't had pieces they want. From conversations I've had, people seem to value Appel and Almora.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Also want to build my own stable of prospects to deal, since it's impossible to trade with all the rebuilding teams unless you have that. Why not just line up a 3 way trade at the time of the deal?
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Why not just line up a 3 way trade at the time of the deal? I'll still do that, this just keeps me from having to line up a 4 way. Young MLBer/acquired top prospect + Appel + Almora + pick is a good chunk of offerable talent.

Don't come to me with those smelly guys.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I saw yesterday on the ticker, that Waino had surgery to trim his elbow ligament? Doesn't sound good to me. Who has him? It was cartilage.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Agreed, CatAss got a great steal there for Bailey.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Wait a tick, North already traded that pick 50 from the Bailey deal to me for Rodney. Supposed to be #40? When it rains, it pours. Even more reason to like this one for TCA.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 North, you do not own #50. Get your s*** together! You guys can revise the deal or W/E, or maybe you can give Cats Ass #40 for being such a pain in the ass.

Is this grounds for disqualifying his DDL championship, and appointing it to the next highest finisher?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Is this grounds for disqualifying his DDL championship, and appointing it to the next highest finisher? Sorry, Trout is the only act of charity you get.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Sorry, Trout is the only act of charity you get. I hope you're aware that if you miss the playoffs with Trout in the LOD... I'm literally never going to let you hear the end of it.

I'm literally never going to let you hear the end of it. Literally? Also I haven't decided if I'm taking Trout. I asked my GF to tell me who was more handsome as a tiebreaker. She said Trout looks douchey and Stanton is better looking.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Just going by the spreadsheet, oops. I'll probably end up giving up 40 instead and getting a later pick upgrade. Since I'm not getting either so I don't care: I have Trout slightly, marginally, just barely ahead, for whatever it's worth from me. It's definitely Trout.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Since I'm not getting either so I don't care: I have Trout slightly, marginally, just barely ahead, for whatever it's worth from me. It's really kind of a rough time because Trout has been legitimately exposed. He can't hit high fastballs, and who knows if he'll adjust. He's a long time Angel while Stanton will likely be somewhere else fairly soon, hopefully in a hitter's park. I would soil myself if he went to Boston. I also have Trout ever so slightly ahead but I don't know. Stanton could easily sit in the 40-50 bombs per year range in a decent park for years and years.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Just to let you all know, we will be compensating Boxy for Oscar Taveras. The exact degree to which he'll be compensated is TBD, but given the circumstances, I think we can all agree it's fair. This will probably involve additional and/or upgraded draft picks.
