BTS Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Not really, I offered 8 and 35 for Melky, this is fine by me. I like it for you. I think you'll probably need to keep selling the farm to have a chance this year though.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Yeah we were talking about Melky for a week or two, I just wasn't overly keen on the idea of dealing him for no MLB players. I think it's possible that Spanky's willingness to assign some value to Rollins was influenced a bit by me saying that he was close competing if he could upgrade his offense by a couple if pieces, including a SS. At then end up the day Rollins should be a decent upgrade for him at the position for 2015 though.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 I think this is a pretty nice injection of offensive punch for a very decent price, but I've never been a big Moore guy. I think it's pretty clear that Spanky gets more bankable value in the Melky deal. I get more upside with Moore but the guy has been a thoroughly pedestrian big leaguer and a big K/BB drag through a fair number of career innings. + he's coming off the TJS. If he can find a way to even sniff his minor league peripherals though...
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 C - Molina (32) 1B - Martinez (36) 2B - Dozier (28) 3B - Frazier (29) SS - Rollins (36) CF - Gardner (31) OF - Cabrera (30) OF - Jay (30) Util - Willingham (36) Average = 32 Anyone have an older lineup?
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Willingham is probably retiring I think
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Dinger's team has to be older. Maybe much older.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Didn't know that. Surprised he didn't try to land a contract.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Didn't know that. Surprised he didn't try to land a contract. Yeah would have thought he'd land somewhere as a platoon bat/DH in the AL.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Dinger's team has to be older. Maybe much older. C - Gattis (28) 1B - Pujols (35) 2B - Cano (32) 3B - Cabrera (32) SS - Desmond (29) CF - Ellsbury (31) OF - Bautista (34) OF - Moss (31) Util - Ortiz (39) Craig (30) Average = 32.1, excluding Hunter. A bit older than Spanky's group. That's a good team, but he no longer looks primed to crush the league for the next 5 years. Funny how things change.

And Lee and Waino have scary 'bows. Sanchez was injured for a lot of this year. Kazmir kind of fell back down to earth in the 2nd half. No elite prospects. Not really any very good ones tbh. No first round pick to trade. dun dun dun!

BTS Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I wouldn't need North on my worst day. You don't seem to understand what LO#D means? Like I said, only a douche, douches. Keep it up meat. I thought you had him on the IL?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I thought you had him on the IL? Gotta post pictures of Remy again...she seems like the answer to calm the thread down from turning into a war zone lol. http://celebmafia.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/remy-lacroix-hot-wallpapers-41-_22.jpg

According to Fangraphs my hitter's average age is 25.5
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 According to Fangraphs my hitter's average age is 25.5 Holy crap that's young. My hitters are coming in at just under 29 next year.
torontofan Verified Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 My trade binge continues. Out: Dexter Fowler Marcus Stroman Melky Cabrera Jimmy Rollins Raimel Tapia (minors) Hunter Renfroe (minors) Pick #33 In: Steve Pearce Joey Votto Neil Walker Matt Moore Everth Cabrera Pick #107 Pick #39 All in three days. I'm trying to flip over my entire roster before Christmas. So far for me: Out - Yoenis Cespedes Courtney Hawkins Steve Pearce Dustin Pedroia 34th MiLB pick 50th MiLB pick In - Archie Bradley Maikel Franco Ryan McMahon Dexter Fowler Jason Kipnis 42nd overall pick 80th MiLB pick
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Holy crap that's young. My hitters are coming in at just under 29 next year. You can probably add another year on to mine though by the time next season starts.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 My starting 9 feel pretty old. Pinto - 26 Votto - 31 Walker - 29 Zobrist - 34 Wright - 32 Span - 31 Gordon - 31 Pearce - 32 Davis - 29 30.55 I guess it's not that bad, but Pinto is more of a hunch than a core player. Rotation is nice and young though with Scherzer, Salazar, Ryu, Arrieta, Moore, and Neise all 30 or younger next year. (apologies for the obviously rosterbatory post)
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I haven't made a goddamn move yet. Although my roster is pretty perfect already.

Laika Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 Los Osos Greypower ... wait, that doesn't make any sense. Los Osos Grises!!!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Posey - 28 Freeman - 25 Hill - 33 Tulo - 30 Arenado - 23 Brantley - 27 Cruz - 34 Garcia - 23 Napoli - 33 28.44

torontofan Verified Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 My current 20 man roster average age is 26.1. Hitters: 27.1 years old Pitchers: 25.1 year old
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 My current 20 man roster average age is 26.1. Hitters: 27.1 years old Pitchers: 25.1 year old Damn. You have a pretty good team too.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 You counting on Garcia and Hill as starters going into the season? I think Hill rebounds - he's usually a hit or miss, though he's a better hitter than he showed in 2014 (he was pretty unlucky). He's just two years removed from receiving MVP votes and even in 2013 was putting up solid numbers before being plunked in the hand. As for Garcia, he offers a lot of upside with his bat. He's still pretty raw, though there is a lot to like moving forward. Likely going to start Beltran more at the beginning if he's healthy - also like his chances of rebounding and the opportunity for him to put up some nice numbers with that short porch in right field.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 Likely going to start Beltran more at the beginning if he's healthy... Well then you f***ing cheated at the average age game you sleezy butt
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 God that is SUCH a jaysblue thing to do too.
