Not really, I offered 8 and 35 for Melky, this is fine by me.

I like it for you. I think you'll probably need to keep selling the farm to have a chance this year though.

Yeah we were talking about Melky for a week or two, I just wasn't overly keen on the idea of dealing him for no MLB players.

I think it's possible that Spanky's willingness to assign some value to Rollins was influenced a bit by me saying that he was close competing if he could upgrade his offense by a couple if pieces, including a SS.

At then end up the day Rollins should be a decent upgrade for him at the position for 2015 though.

I think this is a pretty nice injection of offensive punch for a very decent price, but I've never been a big Moore guy.

I think it's pretty clear that Spanky gets more bankable value in the Melky deal. I get more upside with Moore but the guy has been a thoroughly pedestrian big leaguer and a big K/BB drag through a fair number of career innings. + he's coming off the TJS. If he can find a way to even sniff his minor league peripherals though...

C - Molina (32)

1B - Martinez (36)

2B - Dozier (28)

3B - Frazier (29)

SS - Rollins (36)

CF - Gardner (31)

OF - Cabrera (30)

OF - Jay (30)

Util - Willingham (36)

Average = 32

Anyone have an older lineup?

Didn't know that. Surprised he didn't try to land a contract.

Yeah would have thought he'd land somewhere as a platoon bat/DH in the AL.

Dinger's team has to be older. Maybe much older.

C - Gattis (28)

1B - Pujols (35)

2B - Cano (32)

3B - Cabrera (32)

SS - Desmond (29)

CF - Ellsbury (31)

OF - Bautista (34)

OF - Moss (31)

Util - Ortiz (39)

Craig (30)

Average = 32.1, excluding Hunter. A bit older than Spanky's group. That's a good team, but he no longer looks primed to crush the league for the next 5 years. Funny how things change.

Mostly old SP too, aside from Sale and Bumgarner. And Lee and Waino have scary 'bows. Sanchez was injured for a lot of this year. Kazmir kind of fell back down to earth in the 2nd half.

No elite prospects. Not really any very good ones tbh.

No first round pick to trade.

dun dun dun!

but should be elite for next year, and pretty decent for the next few years after that. Hard to feel bad for the guy.

You can probably add another year on to mine though by the time next season starts.

My starting 9 feel pretty old.

Pinto - 26

Votto - 31

Walker - 29

Zobrist - 34

Wright - 32

Span - 31

Gordon - 31

Pearce - 32

Davis - 29

30.55

I guess it's not that bad, but Pinto is more of a hunch than a core player.

Rotation is nice and young though with Scherzer, Salazar, Ryu, Arrieta, Moore, and Neise all 30 or younger next year.

(apologies for the obviously rosterbatory post)

I haven't made a goddamn move yet.

Although my roster is pretty perfect already.

Other then most of them being old enough to collect old age pension.

My current 20 man roster average age is 26.1.

Hitters: 27.1 years old

Pitchers: 25.1 year old

Damn. You have a pretty good team too.

I think Hill rebounds - he's usually a hit or miss, though he's a better hitter than he showed in 2014 (he was pretty unlucky). He's just two years removed from receiving MVP votes and even in 2013 was putting up solid numbers before being plunked in the hand.

As for Garcia, he offers a lot of upside with his bat. He's still pretty raw, though there is a lot to like moving forward. Likely going to start Beltran more at the beginning if he's healthy - also like his chances of rebounding and the opportunity for him to put up some nice numbers with that short porch in right field.
