BTS Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 In this final week we have me vs realmin, and silver vs BTS, which is funny because it's looking like both could be first round playoff matchups. I'm probably going to get ousted in round one with 3 homers, a 0.325 SLG, and godly pitching numbers.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Mark Trumbo has basically been fat Ichiro over 200 plate appearances since returning. Why can't I have nice things?
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I saw that! I don't know what it was, but it was something. I don't know what you're talking about.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 BTS holdout on the hockey pool until they offer you something worth your while. I got to say I'm impressed Moya fell to me. I'm not sure what he'll be but he'll make it past my cutdowns for sure.

I didn't even notice.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Did he get placed on waivers when Yahoo inserted him into their system? I didn't even notice. Yep Graveman too. I understand Boxy not going for him but I think I was 14th or something like that. In Fantasy Challenge where you we carry over the waiver wire, Moya went before it got to me. I'd like to thank GD again for being bottom of the waiver
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 These scrubs would make it through your cuts??!?!?! On some of the rebuilding teams. It makes more sense to protect a young guy with more potential, instead of an older player that may put up better numbers that year.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 These scrubs would make it through your cuts??!?!?! I have 5 picks in first round of the waiver draft. I'll rebuild my relievers properly this year. PS until you pass Boxy (so Monday) you still aren't allowed to address the DDL'ers.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 North's decision to not carry a bench bat past the deadline is going to cost him. With Rizzo likely done he'll be replacement-level at Util.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 He should have traded for Hamilton.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 He should have traded for Hamilton. I dropped Ike Davis, so he can have an equivalent contributor for free!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Hamilton makes more monies which means he's better. Right?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Hamilton makes more monies which means he's better. Right? clearly... plus he adds some edge to your team. and street cred with the guy he killed (a-la Ray Lewis)
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 He also comes with Jesus too. So really it's 2 players for the price of 1.

Crush the pitching ratios, pile up wins and Ks and hope for a couple offensive stats to fall in place. Rizzo and Cruising Chris have been carrying my power production all season.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 It's funny, I was debating between trading for Soriano or Janssen (went with Janssen) and now both are likely losing their closing jobs -______-

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 With the Melky injury, and the precipitous declines of Davis and Wright, my playoff offense will now be lead by the supremely boring Alex Gordon and the exceptionally ancient Jimmy Rollins. I can already smell the hardware...
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Elite? I'd have to disagree with that. I wouldn't even bank on him as an SP3 going forward, although the hot stretch is certainly helping with the fantasy playoff push.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Jennings done for the year, along with Choo and probably Belt. FML.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Yeah I sat on Carrasco for half the season hoping Cleveland would give him another shot. Nice to see a plan work out. Same with TJ House - I stuck with him while they jerked him around between AAA and MLB and now he's a stud. My whole rotation has been untouchable for months.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I don't think he is, just commenting the numbers are, or damn close. Who knows what he'll be, Cleveland has some ******** SP magic going though. I posted about this a while ago in the BBDL thread. Between Kluber, Carrasco, Tomlin, House and maybe Salazar, the Indians are doing something special with pitchers who don't have top prospect pedigrees. You almost have to pick up any random minor league pitcher they promote.

I wouldn't even bank on him as an SP3 going forward, although the hot stretch is certainly helping with the fantasy playoff push. With his stifling start today, Carrasco has 103 innings of 9.00/1.92/0.52 ball (2.84 xFIP). You don't think that's meaningful?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Not really, no. Is it good? Yes. That doesn't mean it's at all indicative of who he is going forward. I weigh his lengthy track record of sucking considerably.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Carrasco was on my pre-season watch list and I think I even owned him for a bit (possibly not this league though). He's still a big flimsy question mark going forward, but you could say the same thing about most arms.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I wanted to pickup Carrasco in the FC league, ugh oh well missed that boat!
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Well Carrasco has always had great stuff and good PD stats, this year he's just stepped it up a notch. Guy averages 95 with three quality off-speed offerings. His career stats are actually decent too (3.75 xFIP). I'd dispute that he's "sucked considerably." I'm not ready to annoint him a long-term fixture for my team but I do think there's something special there.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Are we going to run the draft lottery this week? Figure with the standings being finalized after today, we can get that out of the way soon.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Stay away from my #1, *******!
