Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Son of a bitch, two more DLs for me today. FML.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Craig (no big loss to my roster) and Garza, who has been a solid contributor lately. I lose Garza here and FC, which really sticks in my craw. Glad to hear Cutch is out, I don't own any shares.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I'm open to acquiring a bat for the stretch run. Any decent ones available?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Broken rib, Gibson's a twat. Well, they put Goldy out for the year, so quite frankly, f*** them. They sewered my championship run for FC.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Torii Hunter is scorching hot and could be available for a similar value pitcher. Or you could buy Michael Bourn if you really feel like ravaging your slashline.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Anyone interested in dealing a #1 or #2 starter? Or supplying me with an upgrade on Josh Hamilton?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Is anyone going to process the deal on Yahoo? I know Sammy is up north so he has no connection to the Yahoo site and proboards he told me. We both also sent an email to NJH. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Cant process because players are in a pending trade. Cancel your yahoo offers.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Ok cancelled the trade on Yahoo so it be able to process now. Thanks!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Sil, I moved Siegrist off your DL but you need to drop someone to add Greinke.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 New rule! Don't bug commissioners to process your trades if: A) your roster doesn't have space involved players are in currently offered trades C) your roster has mismanaged NA/DL slots prohibiting transactions D) you need to cut/promote minor league assets and you haven't specified which ones In general, this s*** is a hell of a lot simpler if you guys just do the Yahoo portion of trades on Yahoo by yourselves (granted, sometimes this isn't possible).
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I had to move players through DL and NA spots to process this trade, which is really not ok now that I reflect on it. All MLB aspects of trades needs to be processed using the Yahoo trade interface going forward, with no exceptions. Commissioners are not here to give loopholes around roster management, this is not fair to other managers.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 Agreed. Really, the only time a commissioner should ever be asked to process a trade is if only one MLB piece is changing teams, and the accepting team has an empty roster spot.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Even in that case, the team with the empty roster spot can grab a scrub off FA and send them off to complete the trade. If you need to clear expired NAs and DLs to do so, then that's the whole point. We should only be clicking Allow Trade and processing picks/prospects.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Yahoo should just not allow even lineup changes if your roster is illegal, s*** would be fixed right quick! Pretty sure it doesn't.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Pretty sure it doesn't. You can make lineup changes (and I think trades), you just can't add a player.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Hey SG, guess who owns Gibson in the BBDL?
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I drafted Gibson in the initial MiLB draft and was pretty high on him for most of last year. But then Minnesota called him up and I really didn't like what I saw. Threw him into the big offseason trade to clear an MiLB spot. I don't think his walk rate is for real at 2.37 per nine. And if that rises to 2.75-3.00, the whole package no longer works. He is youngish though and has decent stuff. Deserves to be owned.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Hey SG, guess who owns Gibson in the BBDL? lol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Kyle Gibson might have the best movement on his pitches in baseball. He's going to be a shining star. "Kyle Gibson is a terrible pitcher" someone actually said that. Love me some Kyle Gibson. lel SG
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Not a believer in Gibson at all. As North says, he pretty much operates with zero margin for error right now.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 0 margin for error? Lol the f***, he's allowing 28% fly balls in Minnesota. He strikes out 5/9. GB rate goes down or BB rate goes up and he goes from serviceable 6/7 to waiver fodder.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I want to get in a big argument with you about this so I've got lots of quotes. Way to leave us hanging.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Or if it is a 3-way... Can you check your wise offers please? Thanks.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Son of a bitch my offense has me despaired.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Can you check your wise offers please? Thanks. Where at?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Is there more to that trade? Looks like Silverdumn got taken to the cleaners otherwise.

SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Jansen is still really young. I wasn't going to just give him away. I think you did really well here. Good move
