GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 You guys should try and recruit him to the BBDL. We already have one like him. His name is Randy the Robot.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 So basically some random guy with 1 other forum post came to this thread, copied and pasted a post TCA made weeks ago, then vanished. Okay then. I was just about to say, "I had all those players". I'm a little creeped out now...
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I found him much easier to trade with than all the rest of you put together.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Jaysblue appears to have confirmed the trade via retweet.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I like this deal for jaysblue. Cingrani has been exposed this year and the other pieces are more quantity than quality. The 1st rounder should be in the teens, Piscotty doesn't have much power for a COF, and Herrera and Cain are replacement level IMO.

I was willing to Offer Syndergaard + 1st + any prospect in my system, but the yahoo system sucks and my message was lost. I feel like that would have been a much better offer. Cliffs: don't use the yahoo messaging system.

Personally I wouldn't have considered moving him without getting a Top 20 prospect (like Noah) + a 1st and other pieces.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I was upset because I sent three separate offers, and not one of them even got me a reply.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 yeah, a little confused. I feel like I offered more. Jon Niese has to be worth a lot more than Cingrani at this point, right?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I don't love that return either, would have liked 1 premium asset. Cingrani scares me, personally. He has a goos initial run because of his arm deception, but in the longer run his extreme fastball usage has predictably led to a drop in SwStr% and a spike in HR rate. The career FIP is surprisingly a below average 4.35 now.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I was upset because I sent three separate offers, and not one of them even got me a reply. If you sent them via yahoo, they probably didn't make it.

No. You should probably accept that a 27 year old with an extensive injury history isn't a very attractive centrepiece for a rebuilding team.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I really hate to be THAT guy but I wish I had throw my hat in the ring. I would like to consolidate some assetts.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 If you sent them via yahoo, they probably didn't make it. I figured that was a possibility, so sent two on these forums and one via yahoo.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 On the plus side, I'm pretty happy that Greinke went to a fringe contender (all due respect) rather than a powerhouse.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 No. You should probably accept that a 27 year old with an extensive injury history isn't a very attractive centrepiece for a rebuilding team. I'm still pretty heated about Niese almost being the centerpiece in a deal for Bautista.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 On the plus side, I'm pretty happy that Greinke went to a fringe contender (all due respect) rather than a powerhouse. I'm personally going to spam jaysblue with Greinke offers once his team falls out of it.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I'm still pretty heated about Niese almost being the centerpiece in a deal for Bautista. Nick has always been the high man on Niese IIRC. Not a bad contributor by any means, but lets run down the reasons why a rebuilding team wouldn't love him: - Nearly 28 - Velo down to 88 MPH - History of shoulder problems - SwStr down to a pitiful 6.1% Again, not a bad contributor despite these red flags, but we've seen his upside and it's in the rearview.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Oh, and he plays for a s***** team. Winz matter in dynasty ball.

He really isn't the type of guy you look for in return for a premium asset unless he's like the 4th piece in the deal or something.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I'm personally going to spam jaysblue with Greinke offers once his team falls out of it. So... immediately?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I'm sure you can get him for a similar pa-hahahah sorry, the asking price just went up by a factor of 3. I better start brainstorming who I want to include with Kershaw as the second piece for Greinke.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 No. You should probably accept that a 27 year old with an extensive injury history isn't a very attractive centrepiece for a rebuilding team. Oh he wouldn't have been the centrepiece. I think a guy like Hunter Harvey (offered) or Raimel Tapia (sort of offered) would be more valuable than Niese. Add in the first rounder and Niese might have been the third or fourth best asset. .... If you're pessimistic about Niese. He has some unattractive aspects for sure, but he remains extremely fantasy relevant and somehow he's staying on the field, still young, never really did throw hard.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I like this deal for Jaysblue. Didn't really give up any "Top 20" prospects. Seems like Sammy did go quantity over quality.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I would have wanted Salazar + one of Harvey or Tapia as a starting point, but I'm high on Tapia.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 How could anyone not be high on Tapia?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Well, if you don't have a BP subscription, there's a pretty good chance you've never even heard of him.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 How could anyone not be high on Tapia? He was #2 on my MiLB draft list after Nimmo. Tools for days #want
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 But FWIW, I like Tapia's fantasy pontential as much as or more than any bat taken in our draft this year.
