BTS Community Moderator Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 ERA <4. Most years had a K/9 of 8 or more. Winning record. K/BB rate over 2. He'd be one of the top 5 pitchers on the Waiver Wire. Uh...
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Thanks guys for all the despairing...
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Thanks guys for all the despairing... You feeling properly despaired?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 You feeling properly despaired? Of course. You guys never disappoint.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 If anyone is interested in gaining a bat for the stretch run, willing to move Werth, Ruggiano or Smith (packages including prospects can work too) looking for pitching
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Roark is on the table if anyone wants to offer a positional player of similar age/value.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 While everyone is here I'll throw a cheaper option out there... Edinson Vólquez could be had!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Yes. I don't have 2 though. For the 2nd one I could include Strasburg in the deal, he's the closest guy I have (talent wise) to Volquez.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 While everyone is here I'll throw a cheaper option out there... Edinson Vólquez could be had! You're a good salesman. Now I might consider scooping him up off waivers next week.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Josh Collementer is on waivers now. Better scoop him up!
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 So, Chris Davis for Cano is looking like Darrell-on-Darrell butt-r.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 You're just mad because you never beat me h2h. Apparently Davis has a ~.350 xBABIP against his .260 actual BABIP. It doesn't explain the power drop, but take that FWIW.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 But I don't even know where to find xBABIP. Does any site list it? I'm sure it's easily calculable based on LD/FB/GB/PO ratios, but that doesn't sounds very fun.

He had a .372 OBP in March but only had two homers in 22G when he strained his oblique and hit the DL. Since then he hasn't hit for AVRIDGE at all. To give an idea of whether or not a lot of it is a BABIP issue: GB/.138/.237 LD/.591/.724 FB/.109/.138 Bunts/.1000/.376 (only 2 events) Left # is Davis' BABIP on each event, right # is league average. If his oblique is still nagging and he's not swinging hard, I guess it could conceivably cause BABIP issues, but that's obviously a stretch.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Anyways, you can get blue in the face over-analyzing stuff like that about specific players. As anyone like Lichtman or Tango would say, "season-to-date performance only matter insofar as it affects ROS projections".
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Anybody have an SP4/5 type available? I don't really want to keep rostering Colby Lewis.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Anybody have an SP4/5 type available? I don't really want to keep rostering Colby Lewis. Chase Whitley is available. His PD stats are excellent despite the ERA tanking.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 If anyone is interested in a Gyorko for SP type deal, let me know. Also willing to include prospects/picks depending on who it is.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Gyorko? As in the player BTS was shopping for 2 months Gyorko?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Gyorko? As in the player BTS was shopping for 2 months Gyorko? Yeah I'm trying to decide if that post-trade interest was legit, or trolling at BTS' expense.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Yeah I'm trying to decide if that post-trade interest was legit, or trolling at BTS' expense. Either way, nice work.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Anybody have an SP4/5 type available? I don't really want to keep rostering Colby Lewis. Ryan Vogelsong or Marco Estrada.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 My DL starting rotation is starting to get pretty strong. Tanaka Bundy Paxton Johnson Vargas
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Anyways, you can get blue in the face over-analyzing stuff like that about specific players. As anyone like Lichtman or Tango would say, "season-to-date performance only matter insofar as it affects ROS projections". I expected Davis' production to be similar to his 2nd half last year/2012 season. I didn't expect him to turn into Chris Carter, so I'm guessing the oblique is still an issue.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Ryan Vogelsong or Marco Estrada. You mean the Marco Estrada who just lost his rotation spot? With this kind of misinformation, no wonder your team is badly underperforming their PR.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Marco Estrada, Chase Whitley, and Ryan Vogelsong are SP4/5 caliber now? Come on guys, this isn't the BBDL.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 You mean the Marco Estrada who just lost his rotation spot? With this kind of misinformation, no wonder your team is badly underperforming their PR. Goddamit
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Marco Estrada, Chase Whitley, and Ryan Vogelsong are SP4/5 caliber now? Come on guys, this isn't the BBDL. Vogelsong is a #4/5 starter for the Giants, is he not?
