Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Guess this prospect: 20 years old, A+: .318/.423/.576 162 wRC+ Second hint: He's got 50 hit/50 power future grade, probably ends up a PH in the NL.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 And nobody on here is calling for his head though I take 3 hours, everyone freaks out and gives me flack. Seriously you guys love the Hurl so much that you were willing to postpone the draft since he was in Vegas. This sickens me. (Joking, we all love Kev - he is one of a kind) Omg are you out of tampons or something?

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Jesse Winker. Too easy I guess. He pisses so much excellence that his statline is just a dead giveaway.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 As Nick said, it just really grinds people's gears when someone is at their computer and still not making the pick. The spirit of the window isn't really to mull over decisions for multiple hours while on the clock. I was only joking, and lets not start with this nonsense again. How was I at my computer for the full three hours? Like seriously. Hurl likely signed onto Facebook during his clock - he could have been at his computer! I can use the window as I wish - z3r0s offered a trade and I was mulling over his offer or a prospect that I was going to take next on my list. I didn't take that much time to make that decision, not even 3 hours. Shorter time than some other posters on here have taken with their window.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Omg are you out of tampons or something? I should pick up a box from you because I know you've been buying a whole bunch recently.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Looks like Kevin is both past his prime and past his time. Spanky can pick whenever and then hurl gets a new clock.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 lets not start with this nonsense again. Then maybe stop bringing it up, and people will stop giving you slack?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Looks like Kevin is both past his prime and past his time. Spanky can pick whenever and then hurl gets a new clock. Pretty sure we didn't give people new clocks when this happened in the past unless the next person picking decided to wait until the last minute as a curtesy. Pretty sure we just go on picking as quickly as we want and Hurl jumps in whenever he's available. This happened to Spanky in the very first draft.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 New pick, New clock. What we've always done.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Its only a new clock because he has the next pick after Spanky
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Its only a new clock because he has the next pick after Spanky Gotcha. For a second there I thought we were enacting the "don't treat Hurl like typical riff-raff" clause.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Way to go, dick. Ruining it for everyone!
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Gotcha. For a second there I thought we were enacting the "don't treat Hurl like typical riff-raff" clause. The Hurl is basically riff-raff incarnate.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Maybe he's just being super-extra careful not to select someone else's property. Now that would be embarrassing! What's that? I can't hear you all the way down in 3rd place.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Man, that TBC division is a bastard.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Its only a new clock because he has the next pick after Spanky and I'm working another 36 hours this weekend. I'll trade down for nothing to the first person who I like and wants my clock. I don't have a list and will now be looking at the 2011 International draft so I don't think my pick will be taken in the meantime.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Then maybe stop bringing it up, and people will stop giving you slack? Don't you mean flack? Boxy and his excellent grammar skills are really rubbing off on me

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 What's that? I can't hear you all the way down in 3rd place. Don't worry after this week you will be a little closer to him and you should be able to hear him
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 At Hurl's request by email, his 12 hour window for pick 70 will be waived. He doesn't want to hold up the draft and he has no prepared list anyway. Draft will move on without him but he will be free to pick whenever.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 So in GD's off board league, I just dealt McCutchen for Scherzer, Craig and Marte. What do you guys think?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 So in GD's off board league, I just dealt McCutchen for Scherzer, Craig and Marte. What do you guys think? 10 team same scoring as BBDL I have Scherzer ~30, Craig ~50, Marte fringe 100, McCutchen 3rd
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 So in GD's off board league, I just dealt McCutchen for Scherzer, Craig and Marte. What do you guys think? I think I prefer McCutchen. In a shallow league with a limited number of starting spots, it really pays off to trade packages of good players for elite players. Plus Craig is a very replaceable bat in the format. It is a fair trade though.

It is a fair trade though. Yup. It helps me considering I had the pitching to deal from (Waino, Sanchez, Felix, Keuchel, etc), and was a bit weak on bats since I lost Harper. My OF is now Gomez, Bautista, Braun, McCutchen, Harper lol. I'm gonna have to deal one of them for an IF though. But this helps offset the Fielder injury for Boxy and Marte replaces Cutch's spot while Scherzer bolsters the staff. Especially when you consider team situations, it's a fair deal.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Craig seems like he'd be replacement level in a ten team league
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Wow, I was expecting to get lambasted.
