Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Everyone should get a team of All-stars like the Los Osos Blancos. It'd be more fair that way. Agreed. I don't know why more teams don't do this.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I'm going to pull out on the Drew sweepstakes, Franklin has been activated, sorry mate. Damn, I really want that guy of yours that I want.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Same here.... I really want Bautista...

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Fielder out for the year. Big blow to the BALCO Pharm Team. My first major injury in a while. I'll probably need to get another bat now.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Allen Craig and/or Matt Carpenter could be had for the right price.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 That f***ing sucks though. I have Fielder in The League and that is a colossal blow to my already borderline team.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 And I thought my Wandy Rodriguez waiver pick was such solid value... Damn.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 And I thought my Wandy Rodriguez waiver pick was such solid value... Damn. How many players picked in the waiver draft have yet to be dropped?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Braun's lady bits acting up again. BTdumn, check your PMs.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 How many players picked in the waiver draft have yet to be dropped? A quick glance at the results and most of the picks have had no real impact. Obviously Tanaka and Abreu have killed it, Guerrero killed it in AAA before losing a piece of himself, and some of the other prospects taken have the same value that they had during the draft. Spanky is still holding onto Domonic Dunne. I got K-Rod 58th and he's been phenomenal. Carlos Ruiz 41st has been a viable OBP catcher. Salty stands out for Havok. Not much else aside from some decent relievers taken in the upper 3/5 of the draft.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I've cut all my waiver selections except Drew Storen and Joe Smith.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 That f***ing sucks though. I have Fielder in The League and that is a colossal blow to my already borderline team. Well, there goes my shot at the PL crown.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Waiver draft was a complete bust for me. Definitely not going to trade up into the higher rounds again this offseason. Should've taken Ben Affleck.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I've cut all my waiver selections except Drew Storen and Joe Smith. Tazawa has worked out pretty well for me, and I still think Tommy la Stella will be relevant this year in deep leagues. Avilan was a pretty big bust though, but that's relievers for you.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Well, there goes my shot at the PL crown. I think this might help me tremendously in PL. The Rangers pretty much HAVE to sign Kendrys now, right?

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Marlon Byrd has been better than i could have expected. I was giving him a long look during the waiver draft. Its not last year, but he's still valuable.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 My waiver draft was horrendous. Hunter has really sucked, and guys like De La Rosa, Hernandez were all RP's who landed on the DL and I dropped. Also, dropped Medina. Only KS has been a solid pickup.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I remember before Carl Crawford signed with Boston, Grant said Marlon Byrd was just as good of a hitter and everyone took a s*** on him.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I wanna know when the Yankees are gonna start using Dellin Betances in more high leverage situations.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Probably never, best send him my way for proven closer Grant Balfour. I remember trading some B- closer right before he asploded last year to Spanky for Joel Peralta. I seem to have a knack for that.... There's also Pap Smear who I traded before he became a useless piece of junk. Forget what I got for him though.Might have been underwhelming.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 On another note.. Anyone looking for a good 3rd/4th Outfielder? I have Hamilton coming off the DL next week, and I'd be willing to trade Denard Span to anyone who will offer something. He started slow, but has picked up it quite a bit and has played good over the past month.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Denard Span is available for cheap. He's better them a lot of 3rd/4th OFers. I need room. It was Jackie Bradley Jr. and Jimmy Nelson both of which I planned on dropping. But Jimmy Nelson is looking quite good at the moment.

Should've kept Jimmy instead of trading him for a measly draft pick upgrade.
