Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 That should be an awesome matchup, Kats and I had a 7-7 split most of the week. The guys I traded for Jose Fernandez lit me up this week: Zimmerman 5 HR, Lester 15K:1BB. Fernandez was also excellent, thankfully, and his final start will be in Round 1.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 So it's looking like: 2nd Leg vs ISO Horny Wrench vs Kats Balco vs Twist DL Stallions vs True Cards
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Midseason you looked like a clear playoff team. Then everything just kind of fell apart. I'm surprised you didn't add more. IIRC you were really quiet and everyone else added. Midseason? I jumped to 5th 4 weeks ago and got myself a great cushion on 9th. I tend to be one of the least active trade guys as I prefer a big deal (Santana for Myers, Kipnis for Infante and Fowler). The guys I would have liked to move had zero value...outside of trading Segura I really didn't have great options (or didn't seek them). I'm not exactly set up well for next year as I have one of the oldest teams. Living on one good pitcher and crap others tends not to work for a whole season.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 I think me-BTS will be a coinflip. I have the offensive edge in terms of season totals 6-1, but Wright is on the DL. He has the pitching edge in terms of season totals 6-1, but Harvey is dead. Also, Doubront might have lost his rotation spot and Danny Salazar is on a really stupid pitch count. I should get a 2 start week from Scherzer, but he should get a Felix vs. Houston K binge. The Butt Stallions will get lucky. Always do.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 What are the odds I'd be facing dinger in both TPL and DDL. I still don't know how my PL team keeps winning. My pitching is actually pretty abysmal.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 I'm pretty worried about my offense this week with Craig out and Miggy fighting nagging injuries. I've been getting lots of s***** ABs from Bourn, Morse and Assdribble lately, there's only so much Chris Davis can do. I need a healthy Miggy asap or I'll be facing an early exit.
TRM Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 f*** I'm scared too. Stanton has a nagging something or other, Prado is "sick", and 7 of my starters are bunched together in one day, so I am gonna have to do some serious lineup juggling there. Seriously, what are the f***ing chances... 7 starters in one day, and it has to be in the playoffs...
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Seriously, what are the f***ing chances... 7 starters in one day, and it has to be in the playoffs... That's actually hilariously unlikely. At least we have 6 spots (5 SP + P) so you only have to bench one (possibly Feldman vs NYY) but the probability of that happening was ridiculously low.

You can have The Premiere League, and I'll take the Darrell Dynasty League. Everybody wins!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Well if Trout dominates, that will probably happen anyway.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 But actually, if I'm being honest, I'd rather win DDL.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Well if Trout dominates, that will probably happen anyway. Trout, Moss, Napoli are on both my DDL team and your PL team so we'll have some sort of win/lose situation if they do good. Oddly enough, I don't share a single player between my PL and DDL rosters.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Same, pretty easily. I've put infinitely more thought into my DDL team this year than my PL team. This. Also combined with the fact that you have certain windows in dynasty leagues. If you have an aging roster, you have to make it count now because you may be facing a 3-5 season rebuild around the corner. With the premiere league, you have the luxury of starting fresh every year.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 I'm guessing there's no loser playoff? My team can't even lose right, they entered last week in 19th, managed to bring themselves up to 18th. The only thing I have positive right now is that I have 4 out of the top 5 Season(avg) stat pitchers.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 He has Paxton too, who made a single start lol. Oh haha that's an awesome stat. It may not hold up by season's end but it's encouraging nonetheless.

Oh haha that's an awesome stat. It may not hold up by season's end but it's encouraging nonetheless. Oh I don't expect it to. Kershaw and Buchholz should stay high up there. Unless Paxton is one of those prospects that explode(in a good way) the moment they hit the majors, and Petit is the newest AAAA player turned superstar, the next Cliff Lee! Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Congratulations to Boxy, Sammy, z3r0s, and Cats Ass for gaining entry to the Carlos Rodon sweepstakes. We can do the weighted draft lottery any time you guys want. Boxy will have 6 ping pong balls (5 for his team plus 1 for Gryffindor's 1st overall pick via Brandon Morrow). Sammy will have 4 balls, Cats Ass has 3, and z3r0s has 2.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Didn't expect my team to tank so badly the last 3 weeks. If my pick turns into a top 3 pick and Morrow continues his annual trips to the doctors office, going to be pretty raged

Oh there just so many poor performances, I can't possibly thank them all! but for reals, I decided pretty early that I didn't have the pitching to compete, so I tried to stock my farm with some high up-side arms.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 We have to do both lotteries separately, Boxy would only have 5 balls for the waiver lottery and Gryffindor would have 1.
TRM Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 2 Saves and 2 Holds on the first night, plus Peavy got his start bumped. 7 starter crisis averted.... If I'm gonna win though, the bats have to do their thing.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Curious, how should I take it? It's because I think your team poses the biggest threat. If I advance, I'm hoping some one else takes you out so I don't have to face you.

This has gotta be my year, otherwise the franchise might be in big trouble.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 You won't be advancing and you're already facing the biggest threat. Your lineup doesn't have enough gritty vetrinz to be the biggest threat.
