TRM Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Cause I'm far more likeable. It's sort of like choosing to cheer for the Thunder, instead of the Heat. You have proclamed winning not 1, not 2, not 3 etc. Championships, a month into the first season. (NOT THAT I AM COMPARING YOUR TEAM AT ALL TO THE HEAT)

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm 5.5 games up on therealmin, why leave the bandwagon? It's typical for a Blue Jays fan to celebrate mediocrity. I've given him the keys to victory.
TRM Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I think you just called his team the best in the league 2011 Heat. I'm the Mavs, or some s***.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Anyway, I love the trade for therealmin, I might even say he's a clear winner. Holliday and Kuroda are fantastic players, and Holliday has a few years left in him. Correa's nice, but he's not a generational talent and the #16 pick could easily bust out. Flags Fly Forever! How is it a clear win when we are two teams going in different directions? Correa doesn't need to be generational, he needs to be really good. Kuroda won't be around long and according to you, Holliday isn't even an impact player anymore. And after the Beltre trade, I think you're the wrong guy to be judging winners of deals.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 When somebody's got a chance, I traded for the Uphill Gardeners 83rd overall pick in that buck-flowers deal... wanna swap it out on the main page?
torontofan Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Not a knock on the recent trade at all, as I don't mind this trade. But what is with all the love with Didi? Is it just because of his hot start? I see he has recently been getting lots of love from prospect sites and in fantasy baseball leagues. Maybe I'm missing something, but he really doesn't seem to have any skills that are overwhelming (other than defence), I guess the potential of 15 HR power from shortstop is nice. I've only watched a few games of him over the last 2 years, but he seems to be overly aggressive and would have to maintain a high BABIP to maintain a decent AVG, and his approach doesn't scream 'walk me'. I like him as in reality, but don't see the love for him in fantasy.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I traded Holliday in the offseason in Gibbers/Chappys league, this was the deal: Holliday 2nd rounder For Paul Goldschmidt Lucas Duda Kevin Gausman

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Thanks. He needed a young SS, so Didi gives him a better option of what he already had. I really like McCarthy, and I know he isn't this bad. The ONE big inning has really hurt him this season from when I've watched him. His strikeout rates have increased the past couple of starts, and he still has sustained an excellent low BB rate. Plus, with my pitching the way it has been (Doc on the DL for who knows how long; and with the Price is Wrong!), hopefully McCarthy turns it around and adds some stability to my rotation.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm not sold on my team competing this year, although if there is any division to do it in, this is it. Given that I would listen on some of my older contributors like Jame Sheilds. I'm certainly not looking to fire-sale, but I'll listen. I'm looking to get younger if I do sell.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm still looking to move Rollins for an OF. Or Kozma for nothing

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 wat. Why can't we have picks in League #2?! I'd like to trade nothing + pick for 2 great players Do you know what a Dynasty League is? That should tell you why we don't have picks in League #2.. But ya, Boxy lost out on this deal. I thought he could have got more for Holliday atleast another high pick. Pick #16 is nothing special and Correa is a long ways away and might never make the majors.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Sent you a Yahoo email zeros I saw it, Imma weigh my options after work. I'm certainly interested.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Nice job by Silvio selling a non-fantasy relevant SS for a buy-low pitcher. And he gets a pick as well? Kind of a headscratcher. He's more fantasy relevant right now than McCarthy is. McCarthy is pretty much an auto bench every time he's playing in a hitter's park and I don't really share the optimism that he is necessarily a buy-low. We'll see. I don't see this trade as a big deal, so I didn't really fret about it too much. Fretting over a nearly worthless pick is kind of overkill. I really don't care about it at all.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I traded Holliday in the offseason in Gibbers/Chappys league, this was the deal: Holliday 2nd rounder For Paul Goldschmidt Lucas Duda Kevin Gausman While I agree that I didn't maximize Holliday's value like I should have (I am too trade happy right now) there is no way that I could have expected someone to bend over and give me that kind of return. I like Correa and I think he will be special. He'll certainly be guided on the right path since he's with the Astros. By the way, picks 30, 31, 37 available for trade.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I just hate Didi so much. He's never hit at any level and his BABIP is sitting around .500. He's Hechavarria.

I like Correa and I think he will be special. He'll certainly be guided on the right path since he's with the Astros. I didn't like parting with Correa, I think he has a top SS in the bigs (fantasy wise) ceiling. The first round pick was tough too, because I feared I was unknowingly becoming one of those teams that punts the farm for a shot at the championship. With that being said, I think this trade gives me a good shot at a deep playoff run the next couple years, and we can solve those problems tomorrow. The funny thing is, this trade started off for Kuroda.

Laika Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 I really liked Boxy's Beltre trade, and I thought his subsequent Zimmerman trade was fair enough, but I don't like his DiDi or Holliday trades very much. I guess it's all square at the end of the day, but I hang onto Holliday and Zimmerman if I'm him. They should be good for several more years. I'll process all trades in the C-Note right now.

torontofan Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm looking to trade Michael Young, for someone younger or pick. He has 1B, 2B, and 3B eligibility and is hitting in Philly.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 does anyone have interest in Jaso for a draft pick? reasonable OBP guy (tied for 6th among C @ .361) if you need a bench catcher, counting stats have been decent too ***Huckster spin*** More RBIs than Mauer, More runs than Lucroy, get a John Jaso for your very own today! silvergun's player sales; buy much, buy often! I'd give you my worst pick for Jaso
