GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 LOL, not to mention John Buck, at least you could get a bag of balls for him or trade JPA for some batting practice balls and platoon Buck and Thole without hurting anyone's feelings. Meh, John Buck's been kinda bad this year, if you look past RBIz and DINGERz.
declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 They will need a shakeup at some point, though. I can't see our coaching staff lasting the year at this rate. I cannot see much of the staff ever getting mlb jobs again. Mottola back to the minors, Walker back managing Arby's in Hamilton and Gibby? How does Jays president sound...

Pete_7 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 He's not going to go from postponing the Marlins trade because of Bonifacio to dumping the guy just because of a horrendous month. It'll be something small like Blanco. I really, really can't see them dumping DeRosa. Best case scenario... one of them gets hurt (horrible thing to say but whatever) and changes are made. Thole should be here over Blanco no doubt.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I'd assume JPA once BTS or someone else runs him over with a tram.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I'd assume JPA once BTS or someone else runs him over with a tram. LOL, that made me laugh. Could be a good plot for a movie.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Thole should be here over Blanco no doubt. With Dickey calling out the offense recently, you'd figure he'd be okay with dropping his personal catcher (Blanco) in favor of Thole... I mean I know Thole isn't the second coming of Mike Piazza with the bat, but he's certainly an upgrade over Blanco... Eastcoast could probably outhit Blanco... Just DFA him already
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 With Dickey calling out the offense recently Did he actually call out the offense, or was that just some troll saying that? I haven't seen him say that anywhere.

Could have been a troll, and I got tricked... I don't know, but hey, that's why we're here right?! 99.9% of the information here will be accurate... Now let's hope it stays this way

declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Jeff Mathis would look pretty nice right about now lol. My bad, Hale would probably take over as interim.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 lol yea you guys definitely got trolled, Dickey didn't say anything. Crap lol. My bad, Hale would probably take over as interim. I've always thought he'd make an excellent manager.
Lokey332 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 The Jays have got progressively worse since boy wonder AA has stumbled into gms job. Every move that he has done has been horrible. Hiring Gibbons and accepting the salary dump of the Marlins should hopefully be his last major moves. They can't afford him making decisions affecting the future any more. Fire him for gods sake.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 The Jays have got progressively worse since boy wonder AA has stumbled into gms job. False. 10char
cornelius woodenfeet Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 would love to see lind gone asap! cant help but to think of napoli as our DH, or even a parapalegic hermit crab with a prosthetic eyelid for that matter
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 would love to see lind gone asap! Why? He's getting on base, and he's been hitting balls hard all season. He's actually been moderately decent so far. With how he's been hitting the ball, the average and power numbers should come up.
High88 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 As long as the Jays have uncommitted ownership like Rogers, they will always flounder in mediocrity. Puppets will continue to change within the organization but as long as Rogers still owns this franchise, this team will continue to be dismal.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Lind should be batting leadoff. He gets on base, something I cannot say for Lawrie.

Well, it's not necessarily about having a bunch of cheerleaders. It's good to be positive but at the same time, critical. That guy posts with the sole purpose of antagonizing any positive aspect about the Jays. Obviously he does it just to get a rise out of people.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Lind should be batting leadoff. He gets on base, something I cannot say for Lawrie. This would be quite the forward thinking move. Like Maddon hitting Carlos Pena first last year, only smart. Yeah, I'd support this.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Lind should be batting leadoff. He gets on base, something I cannot say for Lawrie. the only problem with hitting Lind leadoff is that he is slower than a sloth. it would be station to station. better to hit him second because you have the power guys coming after and they can knock him in with a HR. Jose is starting to be a hitter again and not just a swinger. he's had some more patient AB lately. he still whines way to much, but it's getting better. the whole team has been getting better. less capitulation on the defense and more patient AB. if they can get a couple solid starts, they could get on a roll. last nights come back has to help them see what CAN happen if they play good ball.
