jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Can someone explain to me why Vancouver is such a big under dog tonight? Because they f***ing suck. Thanks JFL

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Why are these announcers saying the Kings are missing their top two goaltenders, Budaj was always going to be Quick's back-up?
JG34 Verified Member Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Why are these announcers saying the Kings are missing their top two goaltenders, Budaj was always going to be Quick's back-up? Campbell has been pretty darn good this year!
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Campbell has been pretty darn good this year! Didn't say he wasn't, initially it was to be Quick and Budaj(injuries messed that up), the latter's been lit like a Christmas tree tonight... GO LEAFS GO!
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Looks like LA are gearing up to sell. This was a contract dump. Right? I don't think Blake is that dumb is he?
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Looks like LA are gearing up to sell. This was a contract dump. Right? I don't think Blake is that dumb is he? Contract dump for a 3.75M cap hit? This trade seems reeeeeeeeeetarded. Pearson is like 25 years old. He'll probably get plopped on a line with Crosby at some point and score a ton of goals.

I know, I was thinking Hagelin next year is the dump in salary for LA maybe? it's why I'm asking, doesn't make any sense at all, lol. Pearson is 26 and anyone playing with Sid's going to rack up huge points, IDK. Edit: Yeah, the cap hit is the same, the Kings must be thinking of dumping Hagelin financially moving forward 19/20. Pitt get Pearson for 2 more years. lol... what a steal for Pittsburgh. Edited November 14, 2018 by Spanky99

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I feel like hockey front offices are still generally dumb as f***. Like, when do they finally welcome in the 21st century with analytics and the such?

Like, when do they finally welcome in the 21st century with analytics and the such? Who says they don't. Yes, there are teams that are more "old school", but there are organizations that are heavy into advanced analytics.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 How does Morrissey not get 2 games instead of a fine? That was the same hit as Matheson on Petterson?
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Leafs sweep California The Leafs' depth is insane. On another note, Morgan Rielly's game has really evolved since he entered the league. Now that he isn't afraid to utilize his shot whether off the rush or at a stationary position, he has become a much more effective and complete player.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Impressive. Haha not really when you consider how LA and Anaheim have looked this year !
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Haha not really when you consider how LA and Anaheim have looked this year ! It's still not easy to travel to California and win 3. The King's...OK, they're terrible. But the Sharks are a good team and when you handicap yourself with a Sparks vs. Gibson match in net, you're not doing yourself any favors. It's still a quality achievement.

Meh, when two of three are playing like garbage I'd just call it taking care of business. Sparks played well, the goal wasn't great mind you.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Thing with the Leafs is their young players are continuing to emerge. Johnsson has upped his game and is creating chances with his speed. Gauthier has been solid as a 4th liner, not making many mistakes. Kapanen is establishing himself as a top 6 guy. There is a great group of young D with the Marlies, the same will happen on the defensive side over the next few years. This is why if nylander is moved, id rather he be moved for picks. Sustain winning.

Now, I wouldn't be opposed to a good player and a pick... But picks alone? Hard pass.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Saturday night with no Leafs sucks balls!

A sign and trade for a top 4 d-man, would be nice.

Yes its unlikely but thats what i would do. The sam pollock route to a dynasty.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 A sign and trade for a top 4 d-man, would be nice. Only problem is you're not gonna get fair value for Nylander if you deal him now. You won't get the D-man you really want. Maybe not Larsson for Hall bad, but it would be a lesser type of d-man for sure.

I'm talking more of a deadline or off-season trade, I should've been more specific. We'll see in 13 days.
