Yeah the team is allowing a record setting number of high danger chances, and Gibson is the only thing keeping them for complete futility.

Khudobin was fine but blame a post, a crossbar, and several fanned shots too. They're snakebitten right now. It'll eventually pass. If they play like they did tonight they'll be fine.

Sabres crushed the Sens today... 2nd time I think, growing pains, still like there youth.

When the Senators waived Condon a few days ago it got me thinking about how many unmovable contracts they have on their roster:

 

Condon (waived and uclaimed)

Smith (waived and unclaimed)

Burrows (waived and bought out)

Ryan

Borowiecki

Anderson

McCormick

Pyatt

Gaborik (LTIR)

MacArthur (LTIR)

 

Dorion has been on the job for 18 months, and 8 of these are his doing.

Reminds me of another article today about an NFL quarterback who was pissing the coaches off by ignoring the video they were giving him to watch (but said he watched them). They started sending him blank videos, then waited to see how deep he'd dig himself.

As a Sens hater that is awesome...

 

On serious note, does this cost Matt Duchene millions? I know Ottawa is dysfunctional but this is the exact opposite of what you want from a leader on your team. I don't know how a GM watches/hears about that plus what happened in Colorado, who are now thriving without him, and commits millions without some doubts. And I actually think making fun of your coaches is ok, but admitting you don't pay attention to video, etc. its just not what you want to hear from your highest paid players/leaders.

It's a bad look for Duchene. He's 28 in two months and talking s*** about the coaches to a car of rookies and fringe NHLers. Something tells me Chris Wideman wouldn't have been comfortable talking like that in front of 28-year old Alfie or Sundin.
