KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Wearing suits is instilled in these guys from the age of 12, there's no excuse, he's a douchebag KK, always has been. Well If he shows up well before the game in his track suit just to brazenly break the rule that's one thing but from what Kipryos was saying it sounds like he was running late and was rushing to the game and just didn't have time or the foresight to get his suit on. He might be a douche in general and it's still his fault either way but from what I understand, he just plain screwed up in this case. Kipper was saying that this kind of thing happens from time to time and usually the guy just strips to his underwear ASAP and no one is the wiser.

He should've showed up late with a suit, more leniency in that case. He's obviously broken the camels back, when the entire team through him under the bus and drove over him a few times to the media, there's plenty of underlying animosity there. He's been playing with the injury for sometime, now he opts for surgery? He just told them to "f*** you too" this chapter in his career is over. Hopefully he reflects and learns from it.

Showing up late was obviously the final tipping point. I wonder if some non-contending teams will have an interest on Kane, now with a lowered value.

It'll cool over in the summer.

Yeah I mean the whole track suit in the shower thing seem really over the top but I guess it's just a case of a tipping point being reached. As often happens, the last straw isn't necessarily the biggest one. In any case, it didn't occur to me that he was sitting on a surgery possibility for some time. If that's the case then it's actually well played on his part. Might as well give himself a self imposed time out. I guess it was naive of me to think the injury was new and this was just some sort of weird coincidence. I'm totally talking through my ass when it comes to hockey.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Speculation here has it that this isn't the first incident Kane has had with the team this season, things probably boiled over, it's pretty obvious the rest of the team is frustrated with him based on whats come out. Being on a 4 or 5 game losing streak probably didn't help matters. As for the surgery, the team made him see a doctor when he got back in Winnipeg (thats why he missed practice on Thursday). Probably best for both sides if he gets the f*** out of here and is traded in the offseason at the draft or something like that.

He's said it's the second time this year, once in Toronto where he has family and friends, just like his hometown in Vancouver, he's self entitled and doesn't give a f***, at least he's young and can learn.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2015 Author Posted February 7, 2015 Expertly performed. Everything from keeping Carlyle and Nonis has been a brilliant plot, I see. It's insane that we might actually end up with one of McDavid/Eichel/Marner/Strome/Hanifin. I mean, we'll probably lose the lottery, but oh well.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Jets are in a good close game with the Blackhawks if you deprived Leafs fans want to watch entertaining hockey
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Blue Jackets win tonight 1 point from 5th worst 3 Points from 4th worst and 5 points from 3rd worst!

Chappy Community Moderator Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Guess the Leafs are back at it again this year, lol.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Damn leafs gonna win.... but that rielly goal was a treat to watch
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Wow...Morgan Reilly, that goal was Bobby Orr-esque! Beautiful goal...
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Sooo at what point do we trade Kessel and Bozak?
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC · 2h2 hours ago 1) A few notes from Saturday headlines: Evander Kane had his shoulder surgery today...word is nothing found that extends timeline of return Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC · 2h2 hours ago 2) Don't be surprised if some teams who are out of the playoff race/don't need Kane now (but are interested in his services) see if they... Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC · 2h2 hours ago 3) can get something done before teams who are in it to win it can afford to make a trade. Could see the likes of BUF, PHI maybe OTT trying. Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC · 2h2 hours ago 4) Also hearing PHI could be moving someone from its overcrowded blueline soon.... Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC · 2h2 hours ago 5) @DamoSpin reports TOR expected to be very busy at deadline with no extensions close on Franson/Santorelli/Winnik and talk about Bozak. Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC · 2h2 hours ago 6) Our tennis correspondent also reports Dave Nonis (in Nashville and TB this week) remains GM through deadline, doing much of the legwork
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Sooo at what point do we trade Kessel and Bozak? Why trade Kessel?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 "Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC · 2h2 hours ago 5) @DamoSpin reports TOR expected to be very busy at deadline with no extensions close on Franson/Santorelli/Winnik and talk about Bozak." C'mon Nonis find someone to take Phaneuf...the Oilers have shown interest and are desperate for D. We could sign Franson then. Faaaaaaawwwk...sucks being a Buds fan.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Hes a 60 foot player. If you could get a nice package for Kessel you trade him for sure. Leafs need a complete rebuild. Even if they land McDavid they aren't ready to compete any time soon. This draft is much deeper than McDavid and Eichel. I really like Oliver Kylington. Lawson Crouse, Mitch Marner, and Dylan Strome are all great young prospects. Deep American draft. Noah Hanifin, and Zach Werenski are nice young blueliners who are top 10 picks. Zacha, Rantanen, and Barzal this draft is stacked. Leafs should be very active at the deadline and try to move some salary as well not just UFA's. I'm not a Leafs fan but it would be nice to see them move in the right direction. Yer dumn!
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Be nicer Spanky. The Leafs need to find a #1 Center. Kadri has a chance to be a good #2 but at this point hes still inconsistent even though his all-around game has improved from where it started. JVR is a nice player you don't trade him. Hes quickly turned himself into the Leafs best Forward. Yer dumn! Kindly keep your mis-informed bumbling posts to what you barely know of baseball on the Main Forum... K Thks!
Chappy Community Moderator Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Yer dumn! He isn't wrong regarding the rebuild. The leafs have been one of the most poorly run organizations for years now in terms of the on ice product.
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 ppl who think it's dumn to trade kessel are the real dumnies

He's wrong on moving Kessel, I just read regurgitated s*** anyone can spit up. Bozak/Reimer/Phaneuf and especially Clarkson's contracts are redonkulous, that have them backed in a corner. I like how the FO's been restructured save for Nonis, he should've been shown the door alongside Carlyle. Shanny has alot of work ahead.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 ppl who think it's dumn to trade kessel are the real dumnies *sighs*
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Yes because this forum is filled with tons of great insight! You can question my attitude or my negativity I'm fine with that. I'm not willing to suck the dick of the flash in the pan you guys decide to go crazy over. I still get s*** going back from the old board about Colby Rasmus. Well guess what it doesn't look like I was that far off. I'm not even a Leafs fan but don't question my knowledge about hockey. Instead of hating on the Leafs because they suck I'm looking at ways they can improve. Phil Kessel is not a player you want to build your franchise around. Going to smaller market where he doesn't need to be the guy is the best thing for his career. The Leafs can turn him into a nice haul. That has to be considered. K...........

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Why trade Kessel? Would we not be able to get a haul for him + help fuel the tank for this year? It just seems like bad roster management to have high priced star vets on your team when there's really no chance for a solid post season this year or next.
