Question: if he were having a Cliff Lee 2012 season - very good performances, very good peripherals but a miserable W-L record, would he be saying the same thing?
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Man, those Cardinals are good--40-21 as it is! And with Pittsburgh and Cincy leading the wild card, there's increasing talk the Nationals are going to be sellers, along with the Dodgers(likely Andre Ethier due to Yasiel Puig's emergence) and Padres.

Besides, things may change within a month anyway.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Agreed. If anyone goes, it'll be expendable bullpen arms(Oliver), or bench players(Izturis, Davis), and maybe Josh Johnson, depending on the rotation's health and his value. All the Jays need is a retool--noting more.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 All the Jays need is a retool--noting more. Agree 100% They don't need to blow this team up

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 As disappointed as we all are by the team's under-performance, most of us thought this would be a contending team even if we didn't agree with what the team gave up in the trades for what was acquired. Also, if the team were to blow it all up after half a season of going 'all in', how much would this hurt the team's image in terms of attracting FA's which is already a problem? I would think the answer is pretty obvious. I'd be ok with a retool/tweaking. I wouldn't mind JJ and a couple of relievers being traded for close to MLB prospects, preferably a middle IF prospect.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2013 Author Posted June 8, 2013 Trying to stream the Marlins/Mets game, what's happening? Is it over? Just says not available on VIPBox.
theblujay Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Nope, it's still on. But the Marlins scored, 2-1 entering bottom of the 20th. Hech with the RBI single
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Tough loss for Marcum if it holds. 1 run in 8 innings out of relief.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Wow, both Slowey and Marcum pitched more innings in that game than their respective starters.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 amazing scenery yesterday Did she take the whole thing in? If she did, she's a real gamer.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Apparently 20 innings last night wasn't enough for the Mets and Marlins
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/06/mets-demote-ike-davis.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook I would LOVE to trade for him. Amazing buy low candidate. Him and Ackley.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 He gets on base a fair amount and has a good deal of power. He's stash-able in AAA and probably wouldn't cost much.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Ike Davis has been s***. Maybe they'll bring him in to be our token David Cooper.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I'd like to read this. Anyone willing to cut and paste?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Boston designated Ciriaco for assignment. Aside from power, he could be quite an interesting bench player assuming there's no clubhouse issues with him.

Aside from power, he could be quite an interesting bench player assuming there's no clubhouse issues with him. I assume he's like Maicer-lite. Wouldn't be a bad pick up but we already have him essentially.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 Every crappy player in the world could be described as "Maicer-lite" lol. Ciriaco has some bat-to-ball ability, but has a terrible approach and isn't a good defender. Not better than our current options as you say. Can he field well? That'd be the only way I'd pick him up.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Nope. He's below average defensively everywhere--he's a AAAA player all the way.. and Iglesias is the better option in Boston.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Cobb getting rocked. 5-0 Boston and he hasn't recorded an out yet.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) 5-0 Boston top first, none out yet. *beat me to it Edited June 10, 2013 by BlueJayWay fuck farrell
