Tonight I was an A-Rod fan. Sorry I thought what Dempster did was ********, even bigger ******** by the ump not to throw him out. As I type this Chris Stewart just let a ball go by and hit the ump right in the throat...if that was on purpose complete justice.

TdA has a 21% BB rate over 140 PA's this season (over 4 levels). Can he get enough PA's in September to catch JPA in walks (currently 16 to 4).

Don't be expecting a spark by Bogaerts like Manny Machado was to Baltimore--John Farrell says Xander won't play every day, and will back up Drew and Middlebrooks..why is he even here if he won't play every day? Pawtucket's trying to hold down a playoff spot.. they never should have traded Iglesias.

I guess between him and Jones, the O's have the market cornered with respect to above average 3% walk rate guys.

Delmon Young as a slick fielding 3B

Yup! I'm been calling Machado out for weeks as overrated. He's a fine player, but the doubles chase and young player hype machine elevated him to something he's not.

 

Machado's power will increase, many of those doubles will turn into homers but.............

 

+ DingerPop = -AVG = -OBP = A slightly improved version of Ian Desmond?

Maybe Brett Lawrie with a slightly higher average. I'd be careful about assuming that all the doubles with just turn into home runs.

 

I think: Brett Lawrie is better hitter than Machado and is also better athlete.

Machado might be a defense God at SS + 25/30 dingers but................Lawire is a gold glove caliber 3B + 20 dingers + 8% walk [+20HR + 8% walk + (-20% K) = high wRC+]
