Jose Fernandez is a stud. Over 92.2 innings he has a 2.72 ERA and a 3.00 FIP as a 20 year old! Just threw 8 scoreless innings against Padres with 10 K and 1 BB.

IMO, he's already a borderline Top 10 starter on baseball. He's scary good.

Oh is this the guy at draft time where a lot of execs and experts were like,

"Who? Who is this guy and where is he from?"

Wow, marlins moved this guy up quick!

Rays get the last laugh - Porcello suspended 6 games for throwing at Zobrist

Were we supposed to face him?

Pretty sure he's the only starter that wasn't suppose to play against us.

No

His next start was going to be Friday vs Cleveland

So John Lackey is pitching like a borderline ace right now. All his peripherals suggest he's as good or better than he was in his prime from 2005-2009. Farrell couldn't do s*** for us, but the minute he goes back to Boston, Buchholz and Lackey have career years. At least Lester is falling apart.

In other news, Chris Carter 15 bombs in 84 games. This will go down to the wire.

Rick Porcello's K/9 is back down to 7.09 too. I've got a few hot bets on my hands.

Their bullpen is s*** with arguably more talent than ours. I don't know who to credit for our pen, but I doubt we'd have the best pen in the AL with Farrell running the ship. I think the Red Sox just gambled with the right guys. Buchholz has always been very talented and Lackey has a long track record of success.

Also, remember when you said in March that you preferred Lester to Bailey? :)

No, although I prefer my rotation to yours now, hands down. Lester is arguably my #6 or 7. You've got Darvish and Bailey and that's about it. Porcello/Parker is a pretty uninspiring 3/4 IMO, and Cueto can't stay healthy.

I'll take Bumgarner/Shields/Medlen/Ryu/Lackey over that, any day of the week. Lester, Dempster and Pineda are also a lot more interesting than whatever back-end detritus is now floating around your rotation.

I still can't believe the Porcello situation. The thought that you might lose that bet never crossed my mind.

Likewise. I still believe I'll win, although it will be much closer than I thought possible.

What was the Porcello bet again? Was it 7k/9?

I remember I was going to jump on that bet, but thought the number was too high.

"Then again, I've never been a big fan of Bailey, and he's probably one of those guys that will prove me wrong."

See, I was right.

This ain't good for us. MLB.com:

Price shows little rust in return from injury

Backed by Jennings, Rays starter K's 10 in first outing since May 15

By Glenn Sattell / Special to MLB.com | 7/2/2013 11:12 PM ET

HOUSTON -- David Price returned to the mound in Cy Young form on Tuesday, and Desmond Jennings had three hits, including a homer, drove in four runs and scored another as the Rays won for the seventh consecutive time at Minute Maid Park.

Price (2-4) was clocked at 96 mph on his fastball after missing 44 games with a left triceps strain and limited the Astros to three hits over seven innings in an 8-0 win. He threw 70 pitches in his return, 48 of those for strikes, and did not allow an Astros hitter past first base.

What was the bet again with tecret?

I remember it was something ridiculously lopsided in favor for you,

but I don't remember the specifics. It was a lot of money too, right?

I think Tercet bet him that Porcello would post up a 7K/9 this season. $500 bet I believe.

Damn. WTF did tecret see in Porcello?!

Bit of a small sample size but looks like he figured something out.
