Yes, but in the case of Ohtani and Sasaki they used the Jays to make Dodgers offer more money. From day 1, Ohtani , Sasaki and Yamamoto wanted the Dodgers only, some of them already had agreement before teams was allowed to discuss with the free agents. I think Tucker will start visiting facilities to make pressure on other teams, so they will make better offers. At the end , the team who will offer the more will get him. No matter if this is the Jays, Yankees, Mets, or Pittsburgh.

Seriously free agents who are visiting facilities doesn't really care about that. We saw such so many tine in NHL and in the MLB it's the same. What really impresses these players, is the amount of dollars teams offered them.

If the Jays look elsewhere for a 2B, this probably means Bo still have knee problems and this is a concern. We need him to play 2B daily no DH, and he should feel comfortable when running. If we look elsewhere for a 2B, better call the Tigers and see if Gleyber Torres available.

I don't think it's a good idea to sign Tucker and Bo. Because we have Clement and Barger who should be in starting lineup. Ideally Atkins should trade Santander and Berrios, so he can have flexibility to sign someone like Schwarber, a #1 closer, top notch lefty and increase Jays popularity in Japan signing Imai and Murakami.

Even Yankees, Mets, Red Sox can't be close to Dodgers about defferal money. We should be happy that Cease agreed for defferal. This mean we can spend more for someone like Tucker or Schwarber, and for the bullpen. If we trade Berrios , we can also sign another SP. Maybe Imai or Valdez to replace Berrios

Don't forget Jays defensive is amongst the best in mlb, so this will help him a lot

Great move from Atkins👍 So next steps, trade Berrios for a good reliever and prospects , then sign Tatsuya Imai. About Bichette, need to be careful and be 100% sure he's healthy. Tucker seem to be a safer gambling. Marte? Will cost too much. Arizona will want Barger or Clement + prospects like King, Parker.
