This is a good video on it, they do think IKF done f***ed up. But one quote from AJ - at about 10 mins, is you can never worried about being doubled up on the bases. Reasoning that even if you are 3' off and you take that first step, you are cooked either way on a sharp line drive because of your momentum.

Yea I do not like this narrative that this is a once in a lifetime group of guys and can never be replicated. Sure, for them though. I like to see them having fun but no fans are going to cherish memories of joking around in the clubhouse and interviews saying they love each other. That does not help me. If we win it doesn't matter, winning solves all problems And honestly I have the feeling the clubhouse is only such a nice place to be is because of guys like Ernie who don't have big egos with their 200m contracts. Sounds like he is mostly responsible for the environment there

Rockies GM is maybe interested in Tarik Skubal Maybe they make a run at Bo because of the sentiment factor, Dante having played there Then 3-4 more good SP and a handful of bullpen arms and they got themselves a team

What’s the incentive for Red Sox and orioles to give guys like Roman A and Basallo whatever deals they got, like 8 years? Is that just a thing for the poverty teams like sox and orioles or because arb ends up paying well for guys with good counting stat numbers but lower WAR?

It’s funny because yea it’s just sports, none of it matters. But also, you will die one day so technically life doesn’t matters. We find things that give life meaning even though it’s all arbitrarily meaningless in the end. So it’s kind of like religion, you put a lot of belief into something that seems ridiculous to other people but that’s what keep you going. It also builds character to suffer. There is always an empty feeling after a season ends either way, it’s just magnified a bit. Baseball is my main focus 2/3 the year also so you can’t really fill that void easily. It does feel like my first breakup even though I only dated her one year, like the baseball season. You don’t think it will get better but in a couple months you will have forgotten all the bad feelings and be ready to be hurt again

It would be nice to have him sure. But this team tries to avoid “difficult” players. He has an attitude problem. Most astros fans don’t like him. -
You remember in happy Gilmore, shooter is clearly the better player but Gilmore makes a crazy fluke put to win the tournament? well that’s what it feels like, Caleb Joseph summed it up with his “I don’t give it a s***, the better team didn’t win” Then Shooter grabs the jacket and runs only to get tackled. That is what it felt like

Sliding head first and foot first is generally slower. Stat cast did a thing on it but it’s still debatable. Running through, you gotta adjust your step to hit the bag but it’s not going to slow you down much. Usually getting the runner at home on an infield ground ball doesn’t happen. It wasn’t a slow roller. So I don’t think we can blame IKF

We would have been like 95% to win with 1 out in the top of the 9th. 85% on scoring 1 run with bases loaded 1 out. That is 1/133 we blow both those opps. Going up 3-0 and losing 4 in a row would have been better. But there was also a few dozen other things that broke our way this playoffs like Hoffman holding it together, getting those 2 good games from Trey when he had been shaky in half his starts and winning the snell games. I don't think we were even odds on favourites in more than maybe 3/18 the games that we played all October. The pitching matchups basically were never in our favour, wouldn't be surprised if only the Gausman games against Seattle are the 2 where we would have been favourites.
-
Brett Gardner convinced himself sliding into first is faster, but then stat cast did a bit of analysis to show he likely loses about .1 seconds at least. But these can't be perfect numbers. They all had different average sprint speeds. Maybe the only benefit really to sliding is you don't have to adjust your last couple steps to land on the plate

Just checking in on it again, they have a lot brutal posts about the jays today on Dodgers. There was a couple nice posts though. "This is karma (Ernie smiling as he slides home)", "thats what you get for celebrating a double play" (Vlad), Kike saying "im so glad the worst team won".(Caleb Joseph comment) Yea, all 3 of them do kinda suck.
-
I really wanted that Cleveland team to win. Brutal that Chapman gets away with that Hoffman style blowup to Davis but still come out on top. Even though they took us down, was easy to move past it. But they were a racist team and exist solely for us to farm players from so we kind of need them to stay irrelevant. Still waiting on Ramirez.
-
Dodgers Reddit giving jays props and also credit from the players for putting vesias 51 on reliever caps. Nobody said anything, the dodgers just noticed it later in the game once our relievers started coming out. Basically all NL teams fans are heartbroken by the jays losing as it’s clear a lot of teams became invested in seeing the dodgers lose. Only teams rooting against us were really Yankees, mariners, and rays for some reason (some seemed upset that we don’t like the trop) as I was really following what other teams were saying. Red Sox were behind us. things will look a bit better once we make a few off season moves. If the next season started in 2 weeks we would brush it off no problem.

It's the play at home. Our pitchers giving up home runs will be mostly forgotten. We made great diving catches and they played good defence too. The IKF was the easiest play to execute and base running is the one thing you really have full control over. So the IKF thing is going to be talked about until they can win a WS.
-
No losing normally would be fine. Even the Hoffman home run is expected. We can live with that because everyone knows Hoffman will choke 1/5, even though he was good all playoffs. The bottom of the 9th and 11th are what kind of ruins the fun. Being out by 10 feet or a routine double play in the 9th is fine. You just don't want to see it be 1" deciding the season on a challenge that may have gone our way if the initial call was safe, they probably can't overturn it to out. Also add ABS and the series plays out completely differently but maybe we still lose.

Yea we don’t really. But the Yankees don’t really need him, they have a good rotation if Cole is fine. They need to put resources elsewhere. He would be great for the red Sox but they are crying poor recently, they are going to need all their prospects. Their lineup kind of sucks too, even with Anthony they need to spend money elsewhere. -
Would have been so much better for Max to just get shelled for 4 in the first inning, then go down 5-6 runs and lose 6-2. On paper dodgers should have won it anyway with the pitching outlooks. Also surprised eric Lauer didn’t go for extra innings. He was great last time out. maybe the next Japanese superstar does what ohtani originally did and try to make his own legacy like he was trying to do with the angels.
