    You’re right, I guess I meant Hoffman can struggle without bringing him in with multiple runners on. Also YRod might now be the guy after today, don't really have an issue with that - I’ll take his aggressive approach throwing 98.

    I feel like a clean inning does suit Hoffman better but yeah, this probably proves he ain’t the closer. YRod might be a closer in waiting, he’s shown some of that stuff and mentality but not sure if it’s a certainty every time

    I agree, this snowballed from taking Bassett out, using YRod for 7th rather than 8th, Little makes a mess and we bring in Hoffman with runners on. It does say something though when your closer isn’t the guy you trust to get that last out of an inning.

    It’s likely this would end up with Hoffman in the 9th either way but if Bassett comes out for the 7th no one questions it. There’s just a few too many times where it feels changes are being made for the sake of it and we run into trouble. That said, we have 2runs vs a terrible White Sox team.

    We can’t tag on any runs then Hoffman completely falls apart, this just isn’t good enough against the White Sox.

    YRod should be allowed to take Luis Robert home to put on his mantelpiece after that - that was downright nasty.

    This started quite well but I feel like we’ve let Civale off the hook here, 6IP and 80odd pitches. We need to live up to this difficult to get out persona we’ve apparently got and stop grounding or flying out on the 2nd pitch of the at bat for 5innings in a row!

    Agreed, this seems to have gone quietly under the radar, he’s a black hole offensively and marginal defensively. With Varsho back and Lukes hitting, surely Clase doesn’t play.

    Love Heineman’s attitude, he’s doing every little thing he can to influence the pitching he can, willing Francis to find his groove.

    It’s going to be a rollercoaster for sure.

    Good point, I get he seems like the hot hand but a bullpen arm that we could option back a few games later would have made more sense if we’d stopped to think for just a second.
