    Gausman is just unfair right now, no one even putting it in play at 40mph - JS might need to take him out for getting into anything worse than a 0-2 count.

    It feels closer than this though, doesn’t it? I was wondering whether the Yankees sweeping the Red Sox helps put Boston out of it, given we still have to play them. But ultimately probably better 2-1 Yankees and we win against Red Sox.

    Keeping the game away from the bullpen for as long as possible is the safer option right now.

    Agreed, right now Gausman is easily our ace. If Bieber keeps getting better and more consistent, that’s quite the 1-2. Also why making sure we win division and get a bye is important - starting those guys in ALDS instead of WC would be huge.

    I feel like this will make JS think playing DS once a week is a genius move rather than wondering why he isn’t playing him a bit more.

    Great start from Gausman, 96 FB bottom of the zone and first pitch slider to Correa was a beauty. Astros looked totally confused.

    Little is totally gone mentally, he’s completely forgotten how to play baseball.

    Bullpen is an issue but no offence so far, need to take your chances in tight games and we didn’t, and Brewers made us pay.

    You’re right, edge of zone which is why it’s confusing why he’s given up so many HRs but continuing to put him out there in same position and expecting different results is just madness. It gets shouted down until all of a sudden it’s undeniable but by that point it’s too late.

    Why is Hoffman still pitching? Back to back bombs but we’ll leave him in until the game is one more run out of sight? Cue us scoring 2 in the bottom of the 9th…

    Me? Unfortunately this illustrates our problem, Hoffman isn’t good enough but there’s no obvious replacement.

    Captain Hindsight here but, YRod would have made more sense in a tied game.
