It's not just Jays, this account has been hitting on a bunch of stuff all offseason. The first one that I noticed was when he was first and early on reporting Joc Pederson to the Rangers. He claims he used to be a middle man with connections around baseball, who would give info to other teams' reporters when asked. Now I think he just wants the credit for himself lol, so he started posting his own sourced info.

Could be a nice little way to free up some budget space if they replace him in the rotation with a lower AAV starter that projects similarly.

The 250-ish over 7 years rumours were out there for a while in terms of what the Jays were speculated to have on the table for him. There will likely never be a concrete irrefutable answer to what the offer was though, because the people who could give that irrefutable answer would never speak about it in that much detail.

I think Boras is trying to get the Angels involved because the Giants are calling their bluff against Boras/Burnes trying to use the Blue Jays as leverage, and not raising their offer enough for Boras. Everyone knows now that he wants to be closer to home on the west coast, so Boras is trying to get the Angels involved as another west coast team for better leverage.
