  1. Schneider's swing path is beautiful
  2. small ball isn't a strategy you want to take going into a game, it's a situational play only.
  3. I would say we miss nothing (or very little) behind the plate with Kirk, definitely going to miss his bat though
  4. garcia and witt are exciting players and can be a problem on the basepaths
  5. the proper response and Law knows better, every now and then a player like this comes along and could prove all the scouts wrong, a little early but it looks like he might have a chance to stick as a major league regular. It might all come down to if he can be at least average in the field because the bat might play.
  6. I doubt he get a 3 year deal, it comes down to priorities - Ryu would be low on my list, big bat LF #1 and they need to decide what's happening at 3B and DH - then if there's money left over I give Ryu 2/14M or something like that. I'd also rather spend on a big arm flame thrower to compliment Romano
  7. big time, I mean many catchers do it - Ruiz took advantage
  8. Textbook delayed steal by Ruiz today, as soon as he saw Heineman go to his knees he was off....
  9. What all the scouts said
  10. Nah man, he was rock bottom
  11. Launch angle is only a part of it, when matched with the proper swing path / plane, then you get balls going over the fence.
  12. speaking of baserunning......that Ruiz is something
  13. Kirk would get some of those for Ryu
  14. Pretty insane what Bellinger is doing, even a better 2nd half
  15. I think his speed alone will make him at least a good base runner - but an great one? I don't know about that he'd have to swipe 30 bags and he doesn't get on base enough for that
  16. I'm not convinced - will see how he fairs over time
  17. Grichuk (random but that's what came to mind watching him getting thrown out like that) having speed doesn't necessarily make you a good baserunner
  18. who would have thought, he looks really good - losing the weight I'm sure has helped
  19. has there ever been a worse play-by-play person in the Toronto market? Devlin is f***ing awful, unbearable
  20. I would have started him but honestly this lineup with or without Kirk should be dominating the A's
