We all know that challenges have to be made immediately after a pitch but I didn't know about the second part of the "how long do you have rule" apparently it can be done after a play involving a runner - eg. catcher throws down on an attempted steal. from MLB.com "Everything you need to know about the new ABS Challenge System" the challenge below was denied

    [Matheson] John Schneider says that Hoffman was used in the 8th today because the #BlueJays want to keep him on a more regular workload and not leave too long of a gap. He reiterated that Hoffman is the closer and stated his support for him multiple times, as he has in the past.
