  1. Of all the mock trades I’ve seen, that’s certainly one of them.
  2. I’d imagine this doesn’t surprise many
  3. Everyone forum has a tough guy. I guess I found this one's. Jesus.
  4. Robinson Canó is back in business tonight with Braves. He appears to be done by all metrics ( negative player) but the Braves are trying to squeeze any potential juice that might be left due to Albies injury Mets still owe him 45M.
  5. Bo is young, a super athlete, and basically never gets injured. We can provide context to these narratives. If Charlie was afraid to manage for fear of being called out, do you think he would ever pull Manoah from a game?
  6. How can you possibly ascertain such a thing? Screaming and yelling is a ridiculous assertion as a motivational tactic. Seriously.
  7. Team led the league in June in offense and still only went 15-13. No amount of offense can consistently overcome below average pitching. Offenses slump, pitching less so. Pitching carried this team in April while the offense was awful and they finished with a 14 -8 record. Offense flipped the switch in May but have gone 31-34 since. Getting pitching prior to the deadline has to be the mandate.
  8. Meh like every thing else there are those who are insightful and those who aren’t so I don’t actually care too much about that. I see people hoping for media pressure but from where I’m sitting there’s not even that much Jays coverage in general. I understand it feels nice to have pressure put on an organization when it feels needed and in some cases I’m sure it can be useful, but the Yankees media coverage(since it was referred to ) and large portions of the fanbase are toxic and overdo it.
  9. You guys worry about the media. They spend their time talking about which Leafs 4th liner is going to be signed to put them over the top. It’s very difficult to find any decent Blue Jays oriented media discussion when entire radio segments dedicate 15 mins max to takes, that shockingly, parallel hockey takes. One of the morning show hosts can’t remember spent an entire segment talking about how the Jays should trade a future 1st and 3rd draft pick for relief pitching. Dude had no idea that draft picks aren’t currency in baseball That’s the quality of the content I’ve found available. Thankfully there are podcasts available now.
  10. Oh. Well Mike Trout isn't an MVP candidate based solely on his plate production so that's probably what threw me off.
  11. Player also probably has 4 bWar and probably a high .900's OPS and is probably Mike Trout? A great centre fielder and base runner. That's not a criticism of Vladdy but I mean it's Mike Trout man.
  12. 50 pitches and he'll be back for the next inning. Good.
  13. I'm sure he'll be on something like 50 or 60 pitch cap but that would still be more leash than he's been given. If it's as low as 40, not so much.
  14. Really looking forward to see Castillo start.
  15. I have the same feelings. The pitchforks would have been on full display had they dismantled the 2015 team that had finally done something the org. hadn’t done in over 20 years. They understandably rode that competitive wave. And they had to balance that with a dang near empty prospect cupboard - we see in retrospect that almost none of the highest rated prospects at the time weren’t terribly impactful for any period of time. They’ve managed to turn a graveyard into a competitive MLB team. And it seems like there are a good amount of bullets in the chamber as far as pitchers performing in A/AA ball. On another semi -related note we’re probably going to see Zulueta and Hernandez at some point this season on the 40-man? Both rule 5 eligible I believe.
  16. Extending his contract one additional season so he’s not a lame duck is SOP, easier to manage when you’re not thinking about a contract extension. It doesn’t preclude upper management from making a change if they feel the need for it.
  17. Montoyo may or may not be an okay manager. Manager impact is overrated anyways unless there are egregious errors being made constantly. The team seems to have had a lot of things go wrong lately and it’s making things look far worse than they are. To lose Gausman even for a few starts is devastating. Berrios pitching some of the worst games of his career? Kikuchi being a disaster and having to be phantom IL’ed is another knock. This bad run of 25 games or so has exposed that lack of depth. And inevitably as most teams have their swings, with the bats slumping like it’s April again in the midst of a tight WC race we’re watching some of the worst Jays baseball of the season. Assuming health and at least fixing the pitching depth by August 2nd, they are primed to go on a heater as RISP numbers like they’ve had lately will turn around. the best teams don’t have the best RISP % because they put a lot of runners on base. I think the Yankees and Astros among others are in the bottom third. I definitely have concerns about this team, I feel like I’d be blind otherwise but I’m still reasonably optimistic about their abilities.
  18. This is really hard to watch right now.
  19. I don’t think Charlie is the most beloved manager-just general sentiment. But those are some strange reasons for wanting him to be relieved of his duties. I’m still not sure on him as a manager but right bow he’s only doing with what he’s been given. Last night was a case of a base running miscue by Lourdes combined with some of the RISP variance that is frustrating to watch. I actually liked how the team played last night. Felt it was a strong sign of things starting to turn around.
  20. I think it’s closer to 7 or 8. Anyways, it’s not the injuries that concern me. I mean losing Ryu is definitely a hit to the depth even if he wasn’t the Ryu of 2020. It’s (repeat ad nauseum) how badly the depth has been exposed. Kikuchi is off the rails so the team goes to Banda to open who doesn’t even look like he should be in the MLB to then passing the torch to Casey Lawrence who has the same doesn’t belong issue as Banda. Castillo is interesting and so is Zulueta and Adrian Hernandez. The latter two will likely get into the Jays pen this season but this team needs a starter that can pitch 5 or 6 innings. I don’t even think the pen is as bad as it looks right now - it’s just badly overworked and clearly neither Lawrence nor Hatch are the answers.
  21. Team is really at this point with pitching huh?
  22. oh my. don't see that very often...
  23. Homeruns for everyone in that game.
  24. It's always a neck strain too...lol
