  1. My opinion on this team hasn’t really changed at all since the start of the year. The hitting will come around and we’ve run into pretty bad RISP luck. The starting pitching is good. I’m pretty confident berrios will turn it around. Our bullpen is not that great and is not deep at all. I still think it will end up being our Achilles heel.
  2. Yea, bags sorry. I don’t know. Teams barely let guys pitch in the minors (5 innings max for most teams), they don’t let guys go more than 90 pitches in the majors, they know so much more about workload … and guys still get injured a ton because everyone throws max effort every pitch. I’m not sure how to stop that without removing the amount of available relievers and making starters go longer as a result. Maybe, just start with the hard pitch clock and see how that helps.
  3. I don’t think you’d need to go that far right away. I’d like to see the following in conjunction: - keep the current ball and tell teams that this will be the ball going forward - so teams can plan for this run environment - have a hard pitch clock.. no resting for minutes between pitches - reduce the amount of pitchers slightly (maybe just by one reliever year one and then see how it goes) - make the plates a little bigger Then play a year and see how it works out. I think with all those things together, you could create a more action packed quicker game. And, you wouldn’t be making any drastic changes.
  4. We might be in a decent spot if this trend continues… seems like the org puts a priority on hit tool in international signings… or at least in the bulk of them. Could make someone like Otto Lopez more valuable for example. Add that on to restricting the shift… if it happens.. it could have interesting effects. More true shortstops? More emphasis on defense with more balls in play?
  5. It’s something I saw last year somewhere. If you take a minor league (low A only I think and only some stadia) game url and take the 6 digits on the end. Then open a statcast box score page and change the last 6 digits to the one from the minor league game. Here’s today’s Dunedin game. Teo hit one 111. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?gamePk=670422
  6. Thanks! I heard before that max was more important than average but couldn’t remember what was significant. I guess he’s someone to keep an eye on. Of the games I’ve looked at Nunez is the only guy who broke 110 and I kind of discounted him as he’s old for level (kind of) and a guy who is probably first base.
  7. Hi, just joined the board. I have a random question about exit velo for prospects. What’s a meaningful number where you should sit up and take notice? I just noticed that Pinto the guy we got from Colorado has hit a number of balls around 106mph since he started in Dunedin.
