Will wait until the offseason comes closer to its end. However, as great of a job as they've done building this team up till this point (even if it took 5 years), it's a whole different ball game adding the right final pieces in an effective manner. I have 0 clue how they'll do here...

Ya you could tell this was the case when it was being reported we were being super aggressive but yet no one was signing. Players were waiting for their real destinations to up their offers because if they really wanted to here, they would be here... Now that doesn't have to apply to every single player, even if it's the majority. We just need 1 major guy to say yes and we all hope it's either Springer or Bauer so let's see...

Sucks to come 2nd place again but Springer is the real prize for me. If we don't get him then all hell will break loose.

I got it right away lol. Who would have thought Shapiro could be our biggest contract given out this offseason. That's probably the main reason why there's no press conference being done for this right now lol. -
I wish Walker would be signed as the 4/5 guy in the rotation but sadly I think he'll be the 2/3 guy. That's the only downside with signing him as we'd have less dollars to still get that high end rotation guy to go with Ryu.

Hes done a great job of getting the team to this position. Now let's see how we take the next step with him. That is ultimately how he'll be judged. Not many people get a 10 year timeline though lol. -
Pretty much this and add a high end reliever. Springer, Bryant and Hand.

Wouldn't be too hurt at Walker but hope the dollar value is good. I'm still hoping that we will do a lot more than just re-sign our own free agents.

Oh we had to rush to sign him. That move cemented my hatred for our current front office at the time lol.

My whole point was that if you think he got overpaid, it's for one extra year. You will be able to nitpick that for all major free agents who get signed. That is the premium you have to pay to get them typically. We did that for Ryu last year and we did that for Martin back in 2015. If we sign another major free agent this year, I bet people will nitpick the one extra year too.

4/54 isn't crazy at all considering its only 1.5 million more than Roark is making for next year. To get a major free agent, you have to toss in that extra year. This will apply to Springer, DJL, Bauer, etc.

Only seems fair if we were the runner ups on Lindor to go after Bryant. We have the positional flexibility and the money to make it work. Plus the Cubs would ship him to the other league.

Bryant would be a great buy low candidate and a perfect fit but I just can't get my hopes up here.
