    Even with Springer only, I think we might trade one of Teo/Gurriel. Grichuk is too expensive for a 4th OFer. We already have Tellez and Vlad that will be rotating at 1B/DH. Would love to keep them all and basically platoon Tellez and Grichuk. Let Teo DH when Grichuk plays.

    Pretty sure this would shut everyone up for the entire offseason. It would be all bonus afterwards even if we still have some other holes. Statkins have said don't expect everything in one offseason...

    Of course... I was just responding to the other poster about the intangible things where the Mets clearly have us beat at this stage.

    Problem is that our direct competition (Mets) have done bigger things, play in one of the best markets and is very close to Springer's home. We don't have much going for us in this scenario aside from being able to offer more money and term.

    If we are able to get Yates and Hand for almost the same price as Hendriks, that would be a massive win. Let's see how the rest of free agency unfolds to see how that contract will fare.

    Chances are slim that all those SS's hit the open market in my eyes. I'd expect to see at least a few of them re-signed before they even get to free agency. Mainly Stager, Lindor and probably Correa too with Springer most likely leaving.

    I thought he already pitched pretty damn well while he was with us minus the Yankees Fisher game. If he could stay healthy and repeat that, I'd be ecstatic.
