  1. Was just continuing that notion based on yesterday's being able to aim particular hits debate.
  2. You can rub the player you are trying to sign for 10+ years the bad way. Most people like their negotiations kept under wraps which is why majority of this stuff doesn't happen often. I can care less but would find it funny if he leaves the Mets in the offseason. At least now we know why we didn't trade for the guy. I would not want to give him 400 over 12 years.
  3. MLB The Show's simulation for the 2021 season https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2134489 Cancel the season. No reason to play it anymore
  4. Didn't they just make an exception for the NHL by lowering the quarantine period from 14 days to 7 days for anyone crossing the border because of the Trade Deadline? I'd think certain areas could be granted exceptions but it will all depend on where we are in society by that time. Really want things to go back to normal so I can proceed to be hated in society rather than this board lol.
  5. It would piss me off if I'm Lindor. He's literally being pressured to sign the offer they gave him or start facing backlash from the fans as the season progresses. Hope it blows up for them lol
  6. Aye aye cap... will keep you posted lol.
  7. So we can hope for June as the earliest return back to Toronto for the Jays. Everyone in the US will probably be vaccinated by then but who knows with the pace we're moving at currently.
  8. I would prefer just the best overall pitchers since we already have a lefty already in the pen.
  9. Report: Mets offering Lindor 10-year, $325M deal https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2143645 This says Lindor wants 12/400. Being 2/75 away from a deal when those will probably be dwindling years is pretty drastic. If the Mets lose Lindor in the offseason, that would be hilarious, especially when Cohen was asking fans what they think Lindor should get the other day lol.
  10. Hes gotta sign that no? How much more can he actually earn in the offseason.
  11. Thought the 5th time was the charm l
  12. That's a surprise man. He looked pretty good.
  13. For sure it is. More people would do it if it were that easy but I felt the hits against the shift today were more skill than luck and also probably due to it being Zeuch pitching. Now I think bunting should be a lot easier but that's a different discussion for another day lol.
  14. I judged based on the type of swing the batter takes. It's pretty easy to see when the batter has an inside out swing and is looking to go the other way. This doesn't mean there will always be a successful outcome with this approach but you can determine the batters intentions pretty easily. Watch the video and you will see the batters bring their hands in. Kind of hard to explain this on a message board but hope it makes sense. This is what happened a lot today. https://youtu.be/NDo7b53oP_A
  15. Unsure if you watched today but I was speaking of how particular at bats went. Not that players can or should utilize that approach every single time regardless of who they're going up against, score, timing, etc. Someone pointed out that a particular hit was lucky because it was a ground ball single through the infield. I said it was skill because the batter aimed the ball where there were no defenders as a result of the shift. This happened at least 4/5 times today. That is all I was trying to say in a non know it all way lol.
  16. I really wasn't trying to come off that way so My bad if I came off as an ass. There are many aspects that I come to this board to understand better. The fact I felt like I was on an island on this topic made me feel like I wasn't being understood here. Also, my comments weren't only pertaining to Harper. There were many other examples today where the hitter beat our shift by directing the ball the other way. I was just trying to have a debate between luck vs skill as it can be a Grey area.
  17. Good... this news warms my heart. #Jose4Life
  18. Still couldn't help him locate the strike zone lol
  19. LOL @ Phillies bullpen. They must be going crazy even if it's just Spring lol
  20. That 2023 ETA for Martinez might get pushed to 2022 after today
  21. You'll have to excuse them, they're Philly announcers so they haven't seen a good reliever of any kind lol.
  22. Situational hitting my friend. Not everyone should change their swing but this was 2 outs and no one on while up 3 runs... screw changing your swing. Try to smash. I cant be the only one who understands this stuff. Has anyone here ever played baseball at all? Lol
  23. Was too quick for the camera to even follow
  24. This outing by Zeuch might lead to a Porcello signing lol
  25. It wasn't only Harper today, at least 3 hits were due to hitters aiming oppo against our shift. Agreed that we'd take Harper aiming for grounders any day.
