    Maybe the runner wouldn't have even tried to take 2nd if he saw Bo busting it towards the ball. Regardless, you need to do the things you can control and effort is one of them. Especially for a SS who is the captain of your Infield usually.

    I remember when everyone was crapping on Bo's defense, Tatis actually had more errors at the time. I don't watch him enough to know whether how reflective of the true picture that is but he clearly has a ways you go defensively.

    For there to be a rivalry, the other team needs to consider you a rival too. Rays/Yankees/Red Sox probably consider each other their rivals while we are not in the picture. This will probably change now that we're good again and hopefully can sustain it.

    Tough to compare prospects to elite ones like Vlad and Bo. There aren't many of those walking around and if they're anywhere near those guys, we're looking at a dynasty.

    I had explained in another thread that you don't move players of Bo's/Springer's calibre from their spots based on a short sample size, especially for a player on a 1 year deal. It's the same reason why Semien is playing 2B and Bo is still at SS. Now if Bo keeps struggling and Semien remains on a tear for longer then there's a chance. Being put 5th is still in a great run producing position.

    Lineup should be: CF Springer SS Bo 1B Vlad LF Teo 2B Semien RF Grichuk DH Gurriel C Kirk 3B Biggio

    Not to mention the whole splitting up lefties thing isn't as impactful unless you have them further apart in the lineup with the 3 batter minimum rule for pitchers. Just put the better players where they belong and if all things are equal then use the lefty/righty thing as a deciding factor. Same should apply for when Charlie brings in a crappier pitcher from the bullpen just because of a lefty/lefty or righty/righty matchup. The calibre of player should be the biggest priority.

    Oh I def agree with that. I'm all about do what's best for your team but just stating what I think will happen because of Semien's current contractual status. We had 0 issues with moving Vlad all over last year offensively/defensively when he wasn't performing and I feel Bo should be no different. Although we had the weight excuse to lessen the blow with Vlad last year. However, the main reason why anyone is throwing strikes to Bo right now is because Vlad is behind him as someone already mentioned previously. I'm scared to think how he'd perform if moved down and like you said, batting 5th is still a great spot in this lineup and probably where I see Semien realistically.

    Was about to say the same thing. You don't move players of Springer's/Bo's calibre, especially for a player on a 1 year deal. It's the same reason why Semien is playing 2B and Bo is at SS... Springer Bo Vlad Teo Semien Grichuk Gurriel Jansen (eventually Kirk) Biggio I have Biggio 9th instead of 8th because I'd rather him hit knowing Springer is behind him than having to be aggressive because of Jansen. Patient Biggio > Aggressive Biggio.
