The longer Montoyo lasts with the team, the more poorly it reflects on Shatkins. They aren't absolved of blame here but anyone could see the total incompetence in terms of using the lineup and more importantly, the bullpen.
As annoyed as I am with how this season has gone, I can move past not making the playoffs this season. Next year will be a make or break year for this front office as they've had ample time to put thing together. How we handle this offseason will be crucial.
The score was 3-2 Jays in the 7th with 1 out while Ryu was pitching.
The score is now 9-3 Mariners and we've only gotten 2 more outs since we "HAD" to go to the pen.
It's the same thing majority of people have been saying all year too though. Trust our starters who are doing well and stop trusting the turd of a bullpen we've assembled.
Adjust your game plan to what we have available and what we see, not be stubborn to what you think our team should be.
So we traded Martin and SWR for 1 year of Berrios? Also traded for Hand because we weren't trying to make the playoffs?
Doubt that. Our management thought we could make the playoffs this year.
But that's the scary and untalked about part here. Are Shatkins aligned with the ******** Montoyo does every game? Like do they think we should use our bullpen like we're the Rays when there's a clear talent discrepancy on that front?
I really wish not or I worry about our ability to take the next step as a franchise.
If Shatkins don't make a change this offseason then I wouldn't know what to say. Every metric says we're a really good f***ing team and yet our record doesn't indicate that.
Exactly... the fact we've gotten so much out of Richards and Cimber is clearly not sustainable. They were never pegged to be high leverage guys but are being used as that because we have no other option.
It wasn't the worst decision but those bunch of people don't realize our bullpen SUCKS. I'd rather side with my 20 million dollar pitcher who only gave up 3 f***ing hits all game.
You know how it it, we must take out our 20 million dollar pitcher who has given up 3 hits all game just so we can use our "lockdown" bullpen. This wasn't the worst pitching change but it's just a recurring theme. We get what we deserve here.
