  1. Report: Yankees won't engage in bidding war for Bellinger https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3458825 As ridiculous as it sounds, the Yankees final offer is 5/160... any interest in beating that offer? He would slot in pretty damn well in the 2 spot but you got no idea what version youre getting lol.
  2. Ive had the same finger tendon injury 5 times man. Its such a ***** to fully recover from.
  3. Gimenez struggles against everything but he does seem to have hitting tools that can be improved. Hopefully he can take the Varsho path of improving hitting wise.
  4. We already signed Ponce who is the 6th starter right now if everyones healthy and on their games. We would need to trade Berrios and another starter to justify signing Valdez. Doubt that happens.
  5. Ya I dont get why people were only fascinated in getting another OFer. Not speaking to you as I heard this from many folks in the media too. Gimenez was useless with the bat for 90% of last year, we are hoping Clement can replicate his career season and we got no clue how Okamoto's defense will translate to the MLB getting lasers hit at him. I thought getting another middle infielder was important, which is why I always Bo.
  6. I dont understand why we're only limited to OFers. Getting any player will take playing time away from someone. OF - Barger, Santandar, Varsho, Lukes, Schnieder, Straw, Springer (sparingly) IF - Barger, Okamoto, Gimenez, Clement, Schneider, Vladdy Gimenez is the weakest starter with the bat while Santandar is the weakest starter with the glove. We can easily move players around with some positional flexibility to accommodate the best pure player available as long as he doesnt play 1B/DH/C.
  7. Pains me to say it that Allen had 2 bad passes at the end of the 4th and in OT that would have ended the game. Theyre obviously not in that spot without him but the greats are held to different standards.
  8. Position/role, its implied by what a closer means just like it would be if people said "leadoff/cleanup hitter" or "ace of the staff" Not having a true closer aka the guy who pitches the 9th inning of games is a massive hole. No need to argue semantics lol.
  9. Agreed. I really want another bat in the top 4 but there is no major hole on the team except closer. In my world, Ponce takes that role with Berrios bouncing back so we'll see.
  10. We drive the price up for Bellinger that screws the Yankees from signing free agents in the future. Maybe we get lucky and get Bellinger but if not then lets hope we can work some magic to get a Donaldson/Chapman like acquisition.
  11. Bo is who I wanted all along and felt like a reasonable contract was right there for the taking. Philly had to go up their final offer to 7/200 so it was reasonable to believe he could have been had for 6/175ish. Heck, I would have loved Bo at 7/200 even if thats a slight overpayment.
  12. Flawed response lol
  13. The good thing about last year is that we went all the way to Game 7 of the World Series. The bad thing about last year is that the only way to improve from last season is actually win it, especially with how things ended. Our goal isnt just to make the playoffs anymore, it's to be the best team in baseball and win it all. Anything less will keep the sting of 2025 alive. We need to be the 2014 San Antonio Spurs this year.
  14. Would have preferred Vladdy went 2Pac hit 'em up on Bo actually lol. :)
  15. Damn man... please use paragraphs lol. There will always be arguments for progression for some folks but you need to be objective and expect regression for some folks too. 2024 was extreme regression while 2025 was extreme progression. Typically that sort of stuff cancels out in the long run unless you have elite prospects on the verge of breaking out. I refuse to believe that Okamoto can replace Bo offensively as close as the numbers youre posting. Bo is one of the best pure hitters in baseball while we have no clue how Okamoto will transition to big league pitching on a regular basis.
  16. Gonna be an unpopular opinion but this team needs to find a way to replace Bo and upgrade our top 4 of the lineup. Our goal isnt just making the playoffs anymore but to win the whole god damn thing. Lets hope Shatkins got something up their sleeve so we can all heal from Game 7 last year.
  17. Ultimately we lost Bo, Bassitt, Scherzer and Dominguez and added Cease, Ponce, Okamoto and Rogers from last year's team. We got much better SP wise but still dont have a closer and we got worse hitting wise. We definitely increased our floor with elite depth but feel like our ceiling isnt higher yet overall. Also lost some key clubhouse guys that helped shape the power of friendship theme for us.
  18. Reds' De La Cruz rejected extension worth more than $225M https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3457434 Get 'er done!!
  19. The Tucker news sucked but the Bo news was a punch to the gut. I dont blame either for taking the deals they got since it seems to maximize their earning potential. Just sucks the massive hole Bo leaves in the top of our lineup. Not sure who but I really hope we can add someone to fill that.
  20. Ceiling isn't high enough. Team needed someone of Bo/Tucker/Bregman's calibre tbh.
  21. Ya getting Bo is important. We need top tier offensive talent, which is why many, including the Jays themselves wanted Tucker. We have elite level depth but sometimes its just about having your best players carry you in moments. Cant expect only Vladdy and an aging Springer to be those guys.
  22. We need to sign Bo before the Mets steal Bellinger from the Yankees and they get pissed by going after Bo lol.
  23. We're gonna do this again for Bo... youre not going anywhere lol
  24. Being used is actually a good thing. It may not seem like it but the more other teams have to pay free agents, the less they should have to spend elsewhere. Dodgers are just the anti-christ so this doesnt apply to them i guess lol
