  1. I have no issues giving Alonso a 4/100 and would go as high as 5/125. Pretty sure he's been trying to get 30M AAV based on reports so he'd have to come down on that for any long term deal. This team desparately needs power and his down years are better than majority of the league's career years. He just turned 30 and I have faith that he'll still be able to keep on smashing until the very end.
  2. Ya he's not playing like a 25M player anymore but if we can move him down to the 5th spot this year then it won't be as bad. I've been saying all off-season that our goal needs to be to move Springer out of the top 4 of our order. This is probably what's going to make or break the off-season for me.
  3. Ya and the fact we had to watch Teo/Gurriel out there, Springer is more than fine in the OF to me.
  4. We might have to go to war with Japan if this happens again lol.
  5. "On Thursday, Drew VonScio of Newsweek proposed a deal that would ship Guerrero to New York for third baseman Mark Vientos, shortstop Jett Williams, and right-handed pitcher Jonah Tong."
  6. Report: Blue Jays want huge return to entertain Guerrero trade https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3191894
  7. So we're at the point where I can hope for Sasaki, Alonso, Santander and a re-signed Vladdy within the next month. Maybe replace Santandar with Profar here lol
  8. Just switch Bo/Gimenez and we can have 2 elite defenders at their positions. If he isn't gonna extend here then f*** him lol.
  9. Don't worry, they'll have the same comments when they see him hit, it'll even itself out lol
  10. Ya that seems like the logical approach. Getting Alonso, Santandar, Sasaki and Vientos is still on the menu. Not realistic but still on the menu lol
  11. Everyone's using everyone as their leverage lol. Would be such a sexy lineup seeing Vlad/Alonso go back to back. Make Home Runs Great Again!
  12. This is inconjuction with the Mets trying to force Alonso's hand by making a final decision soon. Report: Mets tell Alonso they need decision soon https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3191597 View full rumor

  14. This alternative could still give us enough to sign Santandar since we're already rumored to be close on an offer. Bregman's salary would just be filling up Vlad's current slot.
  15. Plus the Yankees gave a 1 year deal to Goldschmidt and the Red Sox want him too. Vlad would be dumb to sign anything right now unless a team trades for him and gives him like 500M.
  16. you know who has our back unlike some in this thread? Kikuchi lol
  17. Usually that is built into the potential trade you make with the team. If we're not going to seriously add 2 more bats and a decent starter to the team, we might as well take a step back by trading Vlad.
  18. I was debating whether to create a separate thread for this but I've seen a few other sources running with the news. It's also about our most valuable asset so here it is.
  19. According to Mike Rodriguez, a source has told him that the New York Mets are attempting to trade for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Which is strange news because former Met and current free agent first baseman Pete Alonso is... right there. A long-time fan favorite in Queens, Alonso has had a quiet offseason as he looks for a long-term contract. To say the least, this feels like an odd fit for both teams. Report: Mets checked in with Blue Jays about Guerrero this winter https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3190734

  21. If you sign Alonso as part of the process then it would be hard to get too upset. Now that's if the extension he ultimately signs is a massive overpay. If it ends up being reason then there's gonna be backlash for sure., we'll see.
  22. Report: Mets checked in with Blue Jays about Guerrero this winter https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3190734 Wasn't sure if this required its own thread but maybe we should create a Vladdy thread until he's either signed or traded... or God forbid, we let him play the season without neither.
