  1. If there are injuries at play then sure... that will come out eventually so we can change our minds when presented with more information. Right now we assume everyone is good so Springer is EASILY the better defender. Let's hope there isnt a ball hit that way where having 1 or 2 steps to the ball is the difference.
  2. Because even if a move gives you a 1% more chance at winning tonight, you do it. We're in the ALDS ffs, this isnt some regular season game. It's why every move is being analyzed under a microscope. Thats the difference between winning/losing sometimes.
  3. The fact you think those metrics are a good indicator to show who the better defender is exactly why you thought Kirk was a better baserunner than Moreno. Use your eyes and some common sense ffs. You watch so many baseball games and yet you think Santandar is a similar defender to Springer.
  4. Id rather have Springer's speed to track down balls. I dont care what the numbers say but Springer is easily a better defender than Santandar. Speed/agility are a massive part in being a good OFer and Springer is miles ahead of Santandar there. The fact anyone thinks its debatable clearly shows me you dont understand what youve been watching.
  5. Echo the same thoughts... best possible lineup except Santandar should be the DH. Springer still has his speed and is twice the defender Santandar is. Only positive about Springer being a DH is that he remains in the entire game and doesnt get taken out early for Straw.
  6. Because we have Yesavage going in Game 5 who shoved it up the Yankees asses while we're using Varland as an opener today after he gave up 2 bombs yesterday?
  7. Yesavage should be starting Game 5 with him emptying the clip anyways. We would be using Gausman in a bullpen role for Game 5 so why not Game 4 when the team needs it more?
  8. For sure... I just used his name in case Yesavage struggles. If Yesavage does his thing then you roll with your usual high leverage guys.
  9. I guess thats where our mentalities differ... every game is a must win to me in the playoffs. You should never save your bullets for a future game if you can use some of them to help you win in the moment. Yesavage showed me enough to be the clear Game 5 starter who got pulled after 78 pitches for a reason. Bieber didnt even throw many pitches yesterday after 10 days off. I dont think its reckless to ask him to pitch an inning or two if its required for Game 5.
  10. Ya I think that's their plan but Yesavage would be on normal rest for Game 5 after being pulled early to help with that in Game 2. Thats why I want everything Gausman can give the team for today, we need it much more than Game 5.
  11. And thats how it should be. All hands on deck to squeeze everything you can towards a win. Springer also needs to be in RF with Santandar as the DH today. I want to see the best players in every possible spot to help win today and we were about Game 5 when it gets there.
  12. Its because we got a taste of the 90% odds when we were up 6-1 thats causing all the commotion. You tell me we're up 2-1 before the series started, we all sign up for it 100% of the time.
  13. Haha isnt that how armchair GMing works on a message board? We cheer for the funs parts and then whine about areas where you felt the team should have done what you thought?
  14. My suggestions for Game 4: Use Gausman for 3/4 innings, Lauer for 2 innings (away from Judge) and then go based on matchups after that. Game 5 (if needed) Yesavage + Bieber for 1/2 innings (if needed)
  15. But he should be added to the roster today just in case we might need those innings if it goes to extras or we run out of arms.
  16. Beating the Yankees to advance to the ALCS means more than beating Texas. That was the exact moment i thought about looking to beat though :)
  17. I struggled going to sleep because I was thinking about how we blew the game most of the night/morning. I havent cared to this extent about any team in years. Its probably because we were so close to the greatest Jays team moment since 1993. Beating the Yankees in Yankee stadium would be exactly that.
  18. You are taking a comment from December 9th when majority of the fanbase wanted major upgrades to the roster after a pathetic showing in 2024. Hell no did I expect the season to unfold how it has with so many players performing above their expected output. The 95% comment is based on where we are today and how we are deploying our players during games. If only only complaining about IKF playing, Springer DH and not Santandar then that means im happy with everything else im currently not complaining about.
  19. No, I dont just blindly hate on everything in a hindsight fashion. The things I truly get upset about are things I felt could have been averted beforehand and majority of the time I tell you my true feelings beforehand. I said Schneider at 2B and Lukes/Straw in LF many times because we were going against a lefty. Anyways, both Barger/Schneider know they should have handled that better. Just sucks for everyone on our side.
  20. I think Bieber in every start has looked bad in 1 inning and has been really good otherwise. IKF screwed him in the 1st inning so his real bad inning came in the 3rd. We'll never know if he would have gone onto locking back in since Schneider trusted his bullpen over that yesterday.
  21. If you see complaints about a few things then that means you are good with the things not being complained about. Not everyone likes to write essays about every single decision the team makes like theyre paid from them lol.
  22. If I had the choice between Barger/IKK then yes, I would take Barger. However, I clearly mentioned several times yesterday before the game even started that we should be using Straw or even Lukes in LF. We already had Santandar out there and that just makes the OF too weak with Schneider out there too. IKF doesnt belong on this roster, let alone starting back to back playoff games.
  23. Barger vehemently called for the ball but a good OFer know that you always call the IF off when you can easily get to that ball. Thats exactly the position Schneider was in, he had a chance to help his teammate out by making the easier play and he failed in that regard. You can see Barger ask him after the play "could you have gotten that" and Schneider nods saying "yes"
  24. I dont want anything but for my team to use some sense when making decisions. It wasn't just me, majority of people were baffled with the decision ahead of the game and it directly led to miscues that help cost us the game. Again, most of us agree on 95% of the things this team does. We are usually bickering about the 5% we differ on and thats fine, that's what a message board is for. You and a few others are shocked when people see things differently as a front office can never do anything wrong while we're shocked that there are people who can't see those things.
