    If we lose our 2nd best starter in the offseason bc of this I’m going to be furious. Apparently Charlie is really great at managing player relationships but also noticed he’s not the one who delivers the news to Shoe about being pulled. He’s totally lost. Worst part is we’ll get to repetitively hear about this being ‘analytics’ without reference of it being butchered. Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people with low ability at a task overestimate their ability. Without the self-awareness of metacognition, people cannot objectively evaluate their incompetence.

    This is not Rays strategy staying rigid. I’ve seen them ride an opener as long as possible when they’re dealing.

    But we moved Stro too early before the deadline and didn’t get that 3rd very likely irrelevant piece. Sometimes the media dictates the narrative leading to group think. I feel this one was especially pushed by some salty GM that missed out on the acquisition. Got to believe the Jays checked with everyone on a best and final at the time and someone wasn’t ready to raise their offer yet hoarding their bullets for the deadline.

    I’ve seen tremendous progression from OG in these playoffs. I feel he’s on a Kawhi-lite type of development track with obviously still a lot of ground to cover, specifically offensively.

    Burke said when he was in the league office they would take the playoff game amount and multiply by a factor of 4 in value to regular season. Still seems light.

    It has crossed my mind a few times as I try to piece together his attributes.

    I noted a play earlier in the game where Alford pulled up and let a double sail over his head. Not an error but a play that all the Red Sox and most Rays OF’s routinely make. Gurriel looked comfortable when subbed in and I didn’t hate the move but that was under the presumption that they have seen something from Teo in the field that has been an improvement on his weak point. I’m guessing it’s a known issue that Teo doesn’t handle angled routes from the corner OF spots well. Always found it odd that they often played him at CF and Grichuk in RF. I thought they had seen improvement but really they just rolled the dice and hoped it wouldn’t bite them. I won’t assume there is something they know that we don’t anymore. The simplest answer is the most likely.
