  1. I was thinking KK’s defensive value is a tier above JBJ but he would be my plan B.
  2. Kiermaier looks like a great target. Prospect cost should be minimal and that would be some elite run prevention up the middle. He’s got 3 years left on his contract at $11.5M next year but that’s like 25% of Tampa’s payroll now.
  3. They’ll have to make a call on their C prospect depth. Most will fizzle out so trust your internal evaluation and get some value back now on the current surplus.
  4. There’s a reason Padres chose to give up prospects on the trade market. All 3 of the top FA options give me some form of reservation on a long term deal but I guess that’s almost always the case in FA.
  5. I’m not buying this being the difference. Been deceived too many times before in these situations.
  6. Groshans, Jansen, Manoah - Deal
  7. Many of us see this. I cringe thinking of him on our Zoom FA recruitment calls.
  8. Took Doumbouya, Connor OTC
  9. Took Flynn, jaysblue OTC.
  10. Took Harrison Barnes. Connor OTC.
  11. Took Jonathan Isaac, jaysblue OTC. Connor lapsed pick anytime.
  12. Social media and marketing are important factors for Bauer and Luba. There’s potential of an entire country getting behind them.
  13. I’ve been worried that Atkins would be a silly kid in a candy store and walk away with the equivalent of candy corn or peeps. The opportunity has improved simply by waiting. Timing is key to optimization here and they’ve made it obvious that they will participate in a big way. Even the Ray signing has logic as a hedge against SP bargaining power. It’s built up trust and personally I’m retiring usage of the term Shatkins.
  14. Not a bad deal. It’s just fantastic that our top competitor in the free agent market allocated a chunk of payroll early to a player the Jays have zero interest in. I won’t mind if they use up the rest on Springer either.
  15. Disagree with this take. I think they’ve all accepted the reality that LGJ is the best piece they will get from anyone. I was thinking Moreno was second banana in the deal. This seems like desperation to extract another top 10 prospect. Perhaps I’m too optimistic but Bauer would be my priority A and B. Patience is key in this environment and I wouldn’t close that door if there is still a chance.
  16. Not a big fan of the Carrasco add on. By most accounts Cleveland needs to move Lindor before the season starts and we’re one of the only dance partners. Leverage that circumstance to minimize prospect capital.
  17. Took Brook Lopez, Connor OTC
  18. Took Jarrett Allen. Jaysblue OTC and msg’d.
  19. Took James Wiseman. Connor OTC, jaysblue lapsed and can pick anytime.
  20. I took Robert Covington - ROCO
  21. That would be best. I just feel often times these reclamation projects get overvalued in the same city with dreams of sticking it to the former team. Feels like it’s a motive for both the player and team.
  22. If the Mets sign Springer that probably makes Nimmo available. Left handed bat with reliable high OBP that can cover CF. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Mets also pursue Gary Sanchez seems on brand.
  23. Could be a piece in a Lindor trade. Has anyone heard any rumours on Story being available ? A lot of big time SS are FA next year.
  24. Anyone else tempted to sell high ?
  25. Sons of Kinky
