  1. Why does everyone always assume that :Charlie's so nice? As if people actually know the guy. Obviously the team and the management was getting sick of his s*** so he couldn't have been that "nice" haha:p
  2. I sometimes wonder if certain major sports games are rigged. Like in the NBA when you get these games and all of the starters are sitting and the team still manages to win. Seems to be happening a lot with the Jays this year at home against teams that are missing a ton of players.
  3. Ugly... Just f***ing ugly. Come on Vladdy
  4. atta boy Lourdes. Whew. Now come on Jays. This is a game that needs to be won.
  5. Jesus, 93 right down the middle.
  6. what the f***? Anthony Banda? Are they throwing the game here?
  7. I know Cimber's been our best reliever, but I always cringe when I watch him. With a fastball at such a low velocity, I really don't like using him so often for high leverage opportunities.
  8. Obviously safe. Why bother wasting time
  9. Yeah, my usual go-to for streaming isn't working at all. Bummer.
  10. Not true for me or any family. It's only been at Canadian airports. As far as I know, the United States doesn't even have any system in place to check like how Canada has the mobile-phone app.
  11. Well I mean it does give the Jays a MASSIVE advantage so it's something worth discussing.
  12. They do? I've never had to provide anything going over the border, only coming back into Canada.
  13. Holy s***, KC is going to be missing a lot of players for the upcoming series. I don't really understand why Canada still has this rule in place. The medical data shows that the 2-dose vaccine almost completely wears off after 6 months. If the decision was based in any sort of science, they would require the players to take every subsequent booster vaccine.
  14. Didn't the guys on this forum used to have a podcast? Whatever happened to that? Seems like it could fill a niche that's desperately needed
  15. Exactly. Gibby was a laid back and happy guy but if a player did something obnoxious he wouldn't hold back from barking "What the f*** was that?!". These players are all men. They're not gonna crumble for getting called out when they play the game like an idiot.
  16. Man, most young athletes are self absorbed and couldn't care less about anything other than themselves and their performance. I'm sure they were sad but I hardly doubt they were all heartbroken and knocked off their feet because the first base coaches daughter died. I don't mean to sound crass, but I see this brought up all the time as a possibility and I just don't see it.
  17. Well said man. You're the first person I've seen raise this issue. Montoyo's a horrible orator. That's not a dig on his accent or anything, it's just that he never has anything insightful or interesting to say about the team. It's all empty platitude after empty platitude. You compare it to the AA era and AA was always talking off the ears of the media. Fans may not have liked a lot of his decisions as he was growing into the role, but we as fans could never complain that we were out of the loop. There's definitely a bit of a disconnect with this current administration.
  18. Oh man, the mainstream media is pitiful in their baseball coverage. I don't even bother with it anymore. That's the problem though. It's the mainstream media who has access to the team, they're the ones who should be getting all the scoops and the "inside baseball" but they don't do jack s***. Back in the day you'd get the scoop about player conflicts, manager issues and so and so forth, now the media is so conformed in their takes that it's almost like state run media. It's also the media who's supposed to hold management accountable but you don't see any of it. It's odd to me because the Jays are more popular and relevant than they've been in a long time. I'm not an old guy but I think back to 2000-2010 and it seemed like the media would drop juicy stories and things like that. Not anymore. What the hell happened?!
  19. No one's conceding anything. With all of the playoff spots, most teams have a viable shot. That means it's going to be difficult to add the meaningful pieces that we need to be a true contender though. Certainly we could sneak in the playoffs, but would it be all that fulfilling if they just get smoked in the wild card series like in 2020? This team just doesn't have the pitching. The bullpen's pathetic and there isn't enough talent in the rotation to really stretch things out. At the beginning of the year one could believe that the offense would be so good that it wouldn't matter, but they don't look like the offensive juggernaut that most hoped it would be. It might be time to smell the coffee
  20. It's crazy how much the Canadian sports media covers for this team. I NEVER hear criticism of Montoyo or Atkins... Imagine the New York media if the Yankees were 16.5 back in the division and fighting neck and neck with the Orioles? Didn't people expect this to be a WS contender? 3 months later and the narratives completely changed and no one's being held accountable.
  21. You'd think 16.5 games back would be enough, but with all the fools gold wildcard spots, people actually think this team would stand a chance against all the big boys
  22. No, they just suck... 2 games ahead of Orioles LOL
  23. It's just easier to hate on a player when they're over the top flashy. What with the streaked blonde long hair, the big flashy earings ETC haha
