  1. Montoyo's gotta go. This is getting ridiculous! If someone told you at the beginning of the year that by July 10th we'd be 16.5 game back of 1st place and only 2 games ahead of Baltimore, you'd say changes need to be made. If the Canadian media monopoly didn't literally own the Blue Jays, the media would be tearing this team apart. I can't believe how many free passes Chuckles gets. It's time to make a change.
  2. That was brutal... Chapman up, up 2-0 in the count and he watches a meatball go by for strike 1... Just dumb baseball. In that count ya gotta let it rip.
  3. I saw that coming... You can't load the bases with 0 outs and NOT score a run in a close game and expect to win. This team's a joke. That display in the 5th inning was one of the worst fundamental displays I've seen in awhile.
  4. That's how it's done Vladdy. Nice piece of hitting.
  5. Come on Bo, even if you're looking slider, you gotta protect.
  6. lol morale in the fan-base must be at an all time low... Damn bandwagoners!
  7. Cash is king. Always make sure to have a lot of cash stored away.
  8. It's pretty sad when little Cavan Biggio is getting big playing time at 1B lol
  9. Definitely. I don't know why they don't. It's not like he's some proven veteran with years of production under his belt. Just lazy managing IMO
  10. Sportsnet sucks. Their only real sports talk show is Tim Mcalough desperately trying to save his sinking ship haha
  11. You've gotta be kidding me. No chance in hell I'm subscribing to that. So much for enjoying a Friday night game
  12. I kinda wish Trout would've signed with the Yankees. It would have been amazing for the health of the game. Trout's the kind of player who deserves to be performing on the biggest stage in the world.
  13. I'm not even a fantasy guy, but the daily player analysis and league coverage is bar-none.
  14. Who hosts that? I'll check it out. For the fellow baseball nerds out there, I'd also highly recommend the CBC sports' Fantasy Baseball Today podcast. IMO it's the best daily baseball coverage on the scene. If there's better out there, I've yet to hear it. https://www.youtube.com/c/FantasyBaseballToday
  15. I tend to think Atkins and Shapiro are overrated. The hype for Shapiro was more than I can ever remember with any other Jays management. It's been 7 years, the rebuild is over with and I'm not exactly blown away by the core. From a player development standpoint, it's not exactly bustling with superstars. A lot of other teams have perennial all-stars, but with the Jays nothing's really surefire. Vlad would be the best bet, but it remains to be seen if his MVP caliber year will be an outlier. Manoah looks like the real deal, but is that sustainable? Nothing about his pitch makeup is really all that extraordinary. Kirk could be a superstar moving forward but he's 5'8 and shaped like a bowling ball. A lot of teams have their ups and downs with their offenses. You could say the same about the Stro's and at the beginning of the year the Yankees but they have lights out pitching. If the Jays aren't mashing at the plate, then look out.
  16. That's exactly it. So since teams always abuse this and it usually seems to be more of a mental issue with the player, maybe they could call it a 15 day mental health sabbatical or something like that. Would make sense as society has evolved on how it views mental health and with these phantom injuries it usually is to try and regroup and get the players head straight. It would be better optically than these players and organizations faking ailments and pretending to be suffering with an injury when they're actually in perfect health. I'm not one of these PC guys, but it's honestly not a good look. Why bother with the charade?
  17. Great new Bobcat podcast with Dan Schulman. Definitely worth a listen https://podbay.fm/p/the-bob-mccown-podcast/e/1657227744 On a side note, I don't know why the Bobcat stopped posting full podcasts on Youtube. They're only posting short 5 minute snippets everyday now. Seems counterproductive to have the podcast on pretty much every platform and not on Youtube
  18. It's just ironic that we live in this hyper-sensitive society where political correctness rules above all else, yet they're totally comfortable to fake a physical injury and have everyone pretend it's so. It's a disgrace to people who actually suffer from debilitating injuries.
  19. Well even the Angels had a temporary boost once they kicked Maddon to the curb. Admittedly it didn't last long though haha
  20. If I was to believe what I read on this forum, I'd think that a manager has no autonomy whatsoever. If a manager isn't even in control of the lineups, then WTF do they do? haha
  21. it works more than you'd think. It's a known gambling tactic that teams will often go on a run once they get a new manager in. Phillies, Canucks and Oilers come to mind in the past year.
  22. Does anyone else find it off-putting how the announcers keep talking about Kikuchi being injured? It's obviously a farce. There's just something off-putting for me about pretending to be injured, even if it's only a procedural thing. It's just bad optics. There's gotta be a better way.
  23. lmao I bet 200 on the Mariners team total, hoping that the Jays would still win in a blowout. In hindsight, I wish I hit it a lot harder. A total of 4 runs was a steal.
