Exactly. It's just moving the game backwards. I like in late close game situations, managers would bring in an infielder from the outfield. It's a strategy as old as time. Baseball's a game based on tradition, and it's a detriment to the integrity of the game when the commissioner starts flailing around with these gimmicky cheap fixes.
I love the analytical aspect that shifting brings to the game. I don't get why'd cater to the hitters like this. Very very lame.
