  1. Interesting. Yes, that would definitely be the sensible thing to do come to think of it.
  2. Man, I wonder if the travel is just adding up. I don't know what it's like for MLB'ers, but getting into Canada from America has been a bloody nightmare all year long. The airports in Canada are in shambles. I'd assumed ball players wouldn't have deal with it like the plebes, but who the hell knows.
  3. The team lacks leadership. We desperately need a Russell Martin or Josh Donaldson type of guy on this team. Someone to get the guys fired up. This team just exudes lethargy. No bark, no bite.
  4. "iT's oNe oF tHe bEsT lInEuPs iN ThE lEaGuE"
  5. Hit and run with Raimel Tapia LOL
  6. Jon Schneider sucks. Why didn't they hire a manager with some experience to lead this team?
  7. Big surprise, another ground out from Bo "the superstar" Bichette
  8. Hard to argue by recent performance. Just goes to show how underrated a lot of their players are. They definitely seem like a better balanced roster. A lot of speed, a lot of contact hitters. Put the pressure on the defenses and good things happen.
  9. What a frustrating game. Started out great and they had several chances to tack on to the lead. Serviceable start from Manoah, but in such an important game you'd hope for more from your #2 starter.
  10. Damn, can't remember in my few years here that I've seen a game day thread so slow
  11. Well that 1-2 punch is getting defeated easily by the Baltimore Orioles so maybe they're not quite as good as you're making them out to be lol
  12. I get what you're saying. Even with all of the negativity as a result of their recent play, I'd be pretty damn shocked if they don't nab a WC spot. But they're starting to s*** the bed at a pretty inopportune time. Things are a lot closer now than I would've imagined. It's a real possibility that the Jays won't make the playoffs this year and if you told me that a couple of months ago I would've said you were crazy.
  13. Alright, alright, you're right, The Jays are outstanding and the Yankees suck. I'm very sorry
  14. Ehh, we'll just have to see I guess. I know we're all Jays fans and I get that it's enticing to run with the narrative that everything is crumbling down for the Yanks but I think we need to look at the big picture is all.
  15. haha well you're a comedic guy, I'll give ya that What a crap loss today man. Can't believe I bet on the Jays with Kikuchi on the mound.
  16. Who cares? They've completely steam-rolled the division and they're easily going to win it. Yeah, the best record in the AL would be nice, but it's really not that big of an advantage. If it was September 15th and they were on this skid, I'd be a little more concerned but I predict they'll be geared up come playoff time. They're just too good not to be.
  17. Boy is Vladdy ever f***ing slow
  18. You're just a simpleton who doesn't understand the psychology of an athlete. If you think the Yankees are panicking in the clubhouse and pressing on the field right now when they're leading the division by 10 games in mid August, you're crazy. You can look at the records of teams historically who've built up an insurmountable lead, they always have a lull in the dog days of summer. I don't see how this is a controversial take.
  19. Nice. Well good to know that the theory is wrong. Would be horrible for team chemistry if those guys had any bad blood. But it does sometimes happen. I remember when Stroman and Aaron Sanchez came up, they were glued to each other for a long time and eventually there was a big falling out that never got settled.
  20. lmao it's a conspiratorial take, sure, but I think it was telling that Montoyo was fired shortly after. At the least it was a symptom that there was some clubhouse issues going on. You don't usually see a typical middle infielder type show up a teams big slugger like that.
  21. It's the dog days of summer and they're leading the division by 10 games. It's natural that they take the foot off of the peddle to make sure they're ready to roar come the playoffs. People trying to make a story out of the Yanks recent performance aren't looking at the big picture.
  22. They're just taking it easy, knowing the games are meaningless. They'll turn up the heat again come September.
  23. Has anyone else noticed how things have gone downhill ever since that incident where Bo was showing up Vladdy on the field for catching that pop fly? It was a pop up that landed right to Vladdy and Bo got PISSED because he thought he had the right of way. Really petty stuff. The fact that Bo Bichette of all people was ripping into the teams star player so publicly on the field had to have set a terrible precedent. The fact that Montoyo didn't step in to tell Bo to cool it was likely a reason why he got the boot. You don't treat the best player on the team like that, at least not publicly. Whatever the case was, I think it was a clear sign that this team had issues going on behind the scenes. You never really see Bo and Vladdy all buddy buddy again after that happened.
  24. Jays really haven't had a lot of big comeback wins this year. It's funny how being down 4 with this supposed excellent offense that this game feels out of reach.
